Most famous pvper was probably Fasold (magsorc), at least you saw his name most often in AD zone chat. Zergleaders were firmly convinced he was using shield macros.
Anyway he quit before I did, so newer players probably won't know him.
There's also a ton of players who were very well known, not for their skill, but for the drama they were always involved in. These included Blobs, Legendary Mage, Shey and Kasa.
Some of them were really nice people though.
Then there's the one and only zergleader: BIGBOSS.
Loved that guy, he made us (AD) win every campaign.
In pve the only famous that comes to mind is andy.s, the dude who did all those speedruns and no deaths in vma when it was still hard. He held all the world records at one point. Think he's also in Hodor, not sure though.
Other than that there's Alcast, but he's mostly famous for being a youtuber and being a member of Hodor.

Lmao i remember Fasold, a nice dude.
I also remember that Boss used to hate him. One day Boss managed to get 5 pieces of the shield breaker set, linked it to the chat and said: HAHAHA FASOLD NO SHIELD WILL SAVE YOU NOW (or something like that). 😂😂

@Vietfox yeah he was a nice guy!
I don't think BigBoss was able to beat him, even with shieldbreaker.
In PC EU, as others said already, BIG BOSS THE DARK PHOENIX (yes, caps were needed).
But i also want to mention another one who was a cool dude from EP who quit from ESO already i think, Cursa. A really nice guy despite being an EP

Battlegrounds leaders are super volatile. Couldn’t name one.

Yup Fasold was awesome guy, he started though much earlier on DC side with a unkillable DK - he could stand in open field vs 20 enemies and not to die. Then he made sorc. I've met him few times 1v1 and it always ended with a draw. He really was godlike when it goes to kiting but I think that much more dangerous than Fasold was Derra on his magsroc, this dude is one of the best magsorcs I've ever fought with.
