I don't use a lot of addons because my game performance becomes worse with them, but one I can't do without is Srendarr <3 Others I like but activate only when needed are Raid Notifier, Multicraft, Combat Metrics, and Lost Treasure. Some I haven't gotten around to trying yet but seem nice are Lazy Writ, Dressing Room, and Inventory Insight.

    Destinations
    Votans Mini Map
    Map Pins

What is piece of candy? Edit: it’s a pvp addon so everyone can drop their ultimates all at once. Gosh this fondue is hot.

Also to others: don’t you find that MM and Harvest Map slow down your game? It’s always the first thing people tell guildmates to turn off when they are having trouble hopping around the map on guild nights.

No one mentioned Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter yet?? Daily crafting writs came to a screeching halt just recently after the last patch did something funky (since fixed, thx Dolgubon!). One guildmate even likened it to being thrown back into the stone ages for the very brief time it was down. I really feel bad for the console peeps who haven't experienced the 'crack' addiction that is having your daily crafting writs made for you.

I could mention many add ons but this one is essential in my case. I am a casual gamer. Many days I sometimes only have maybe a hour to play ESO with a full time job and family obligations. Lazy Writ Crafter is a time saver. Also, because I am a casual, I am not a member of a trading guild or anything, so crafting is my main source of earning gold.

That description just about matches any DLC. They're not part of the base game, so some players don't have them. The sets dropped give much more advantage than any of the add-ons.

Apart from Craft Store, just about all I run add content to my map, so I can better plan my itinerary. They don't show anything that won't be visible in normal play, just put it on the map, so I can see what's in the area I'm going to.

I said official. Not base game. Big difference there.

Official means created by the game devs. Addons are not officially a part of the game. DLC is, whether owned or not.

    Console ‘peasant’ here.

Looking at the list of add ons and what they do, makes me wonder if anyone on pc actually plays the damn game really.

Can’t be arsed to do something / learn something / work something out yourself? Don’t worry there’s an add on for that.

And no, not jealous or envious. And now pretty sure that console players are probably the far better players as they actually have to, you know, PLAY the game.

pChat - save chat settings and copy them quickly
Master Merchant - so I know what's a reasonable price when I'm buying and selling
Advanced Filters - so I can actually find things in my inventory

I do use some others but those are the ones I'd really miss if I didn't have them.

Now that said - I can see how someone on console could feel that way. But that's on MS or Sony....

They absolutely can be considered to be borderline cheating. I literally just did it. I'm still doing it.

You get access to information that people without the addons either don't have or have to spend much more time looking for. Particularly when talking about the addons that provide pricing information about the guild traders.

Besides, they cheapen the experience. They eliminate the sense of discovery in a lot of cases or give that unfair advantage. Not to mention when they break after an update or just flat out corrupt game data.

Nope. I'm not using them and I'm not impressed by anyone that does. They should all be banned.

I don't like something so therefore it should be banned for everyone

If it's not an official part of the game and it gives people an advantage over others who don't have it. I mean, do you really think that's ok?

Technically, addons are a part of the base game provided by ZOS. Only information provided by the API is available to addons. This API is provided by ZOS specifically for addon creators and is modified based on what information they want to be available.

The earliest version of the API made player information available so that you could see other player stats, health, magicka, gear, etc. This caused some issues so it was removed.

ZOS has stated since beta that their goal was to create a very basic, simplistic UI so that addon creators could design whatever the playerbase wanted and to give options.

Interesting. How come we don't have some of these very useful addons on console if it was ZOS intention to have some designed by the community in the first place and be part of the base game?

The actual reason for that is console limitations. Applying mods to games on consoles has always been either a real pain in the neck on the part of the user or impossible to do legitimately by design of the game developer. Console operating systems wouldn't allow you to just "drag and drop" mod files into a specific folder and call it a day like you can on PC. The game developer would need to develop a sort of mod import feature directly into the game for it to function properly.

From what I understand, they did this for Skyrim SE for consoles. They simply haven't done it for ESO for consoles, even though it's very obviously possible now.

Besides that, the default UI of ESO on consoles differs in many ways from the default UI of ESO on PC (though PC's Gamepad UI may be the same). There's likely some changes in coding on console that would make it incompatible with PC ESO addons. Though I suppose any addon developer who cares about console could just make a console specific (version of their) addon, much like they do with PC's Gamepad UI.

Here's a list of uncommon addons I use that I find useful (all with <100k downloads from ESOUI):
    • Arch's Enhanced Crafting
      • Only shows raw materials with a stack of 10 or greater in refinement window, hiding stacks you can't refine. Also automatically selects the default crafting style to be the material with the greatest total quantity. Both options are customizable.
    • Crafted Potions
      • Changes the quality level (white, green blue, or purple text name color) of potions and poisons depending on whether or not they're crafted and depending on how many bonuses they gained upon creation (ie how many alchemy ingredient trait matches the potion has). VERY useful to see which potions are crafted and which are trash at a glance, and it just feels good to use epic potions.
    • Crafting Material Level Display Updated
      • Does as it's named: displays level ranges of crafting materials in the tooltips and on the inventory listings of each material. Very useful if you don't want to memorize the tier names for each craft's materials. Especially useful for Enchanting, as it adds the level enchantment each Potency rune will make and the effect of all Potency and Essence runes to their respective tooltips.
    • Enchanted Quality
      • Ever wonder what quality enchantment is on a piece of gear? Maybe it was a drop, or it's on the guild store. Or maybe you just forgot. Well, wonder no longer. Now the enchantment name is color coded on the equipment tooltip.
    • Leo's Altholic
      • Allows you to view tons of information (inventory, build, dailies, etc.) of all your characters in one, compact window from any character. VERY useful if you have a lot of alts. WARNING: May be abandoned. It's currently, as of this writing, out of date. The addon author hasn't said anything in the comments for months.
    • No Interact
      • I literally can't play without this anymore. Empty containers will no longer prompt you to interact with them. "E.g you loot an urn, the empty urn will no longer tell you it is empty." Now, only containers with loot will do that. You can also blacklist any object in the game (including NPCs), and it will disable the interact prompts on them as well.
    • PersonalAssistant
      • I like carrying exactly 5,000 gold on hand at all times unless I'm going shopping. Not more, not less. I use this addon specifically because it will auto withdraw/deposit to keep this amount on-hand, but it does a lot more than that. Auto Repair, Auto Sell Junk, Autojunk Grey/Specific Items, Autoloot only Gold + Materials, etc. All options toggleable and customizable.
    • Thurisaz Guild Info
      • Adds a bit more information to guild rosters and friends list, as well as enabling some basic guild-based notifications. Character Names, Last Online, Guild MotD Change Notifications. Customizable.
    • Votan's Advanced Settings
      • An addon everyone on PC should get. The in-game settings don't include every possible setting you can change. This addon... "Allows to change additional client configuration settings (UserSettings.txt) not handled by build-in UI." Now you'll have in-game access even to the settings that are hidden in the settings files.
    • WeaponCharger
      • A simple, light-weight addon that does only one thing: automatically recharges weapon enchantments when they run out using soulgems from your inventory.

    • Votan's Advanced Settings (Allows you to change client configuration settings - UserSettings.txt.)
    • Advanced UI (I mainly use this for its Quickslot/Action bar.)
    • pvw2885.png
    • Advanced Filters (Sub filters for inventory, personal bank, guild bank, guild store, vendors, and craft bag.)
    • pvw2987.png
    • Votan's Minimap (Sleek, lightweight minimap.)
    • Votan's Fisherman (Great addon for anyone who loves fishing.)
    • Lorebooks, LostTreasure, SkyShards and a few others.

There is also nifty addon for anyone starting out and having trouble opening locks:
    FCO Lockpicker

And after reading some of the other addons posted here, I may just have to try out a few of them. ; )
