So how am I supposed to get my berries?

This event is completely excluding players without the DLC or ESO+.

The Morrowind and Clockwork City events gave a few free days to collect tickets, but I can't find any way to acquire them this time. I'm very sad. (And before you say anything, purchasing the DLC is not an option as I'm on an extremely limited budget and not high enough character level to have the gold for crown exchange.)

If I had lots of mounts, I probably wouldn't worry so much. But I only have a nasty brown nag and this basic gray indrik.

Both DLC's are discounted down to 1k Crowns / DLC...

That you dont have the cash to buy the Crowns for the DLC is sad, but thats not ZOS's problem tbh.

maybe you can get the ingame Gold to grab the DLC's by selling some goldmats or other Items of value.
If thats also not a possibility, then you can still get this Berrie together with the Next one, by getting enough tickets with the next Event.

Next event should be jesters, which is basegame...so you'll have access to that, and after that should be the next berrie season starting of with ESO anniversary for quite a long time.

I'm a new player and still upgrading bank and bag space and training mounts... and I don't get a chance to play a lot, and when I do, I'd rather play than do something boring like farming mats.

After the basics are purchased, I was going to start saving for the 4 DLC pack. So if I buy something now, that means I'd essentially be buying it twice once I have enough gold saved for the big pack.

The Jester's event runs from March 21 to April 2 and you can earn 2 tickets per day. So 26 in total, more than enough for 2 berries.

There's also the (admittedly slim) chance that we'll get free ESO+ for the last 5 days of the TG/DB event instead of the first 5 because the last free trial was only very recently.

well jeah its a free mount, he never said it isnt....however he said it looks bad, without the evolution, which is correct IMO...

they could have also capped eventtickets to 10 / year, and then the statement of a free mount would still be correct...jsut takes you 4 year to get it, but its free

One option is go for ESO+ now because you’ll get access to the TG and DB content AND you’ll get an amount of crowns roughly equal to your sub fee which you can use to purchase the 4 pack. Then cancel ESO+, although you will find the endless crafting bag a wrench to give up.

In any case, don’t fret, enjoy the game your way, there will be plenty of berries in the future.

I was surprised they weren't offering an ESO+ free trial, or even a free trial of just the DLC if that's possible. IMO Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood are two of the best DLCs (even if you don't want to join the respective guilds) so they're definitely ones I'd want to show off to people who might be on the fence about buying DLC.

Maybe they looked at the number of people with ESO+, the Gold Edition (and other bundles which include these two) and the Guilds and Glory pack and decided there weren't enough active players without any of those to justify it? Or they just have some rule about how far apart free trails have to be.

But yeah, as far as we know the only way to get the berry now is to subscribe (you can buy just 30 days and cancel it immediately so it won't renew - and you'll get the cost of the sub back as crowns), or buy the DLC. But if you're waiting to get the Guilds and Glory pack then it's definitely not worth buying the DLC individually (even with the discount) and buying a sub just for the tickets would be annoying. Especially since the you have to do the first few quests in each guild to unlock the dailies so you'd have to spend quite a bit of time just getting to the point where you can start getting tickets.

Tickets are going to be sold in the crown store during the Jester's Festival (and later events) and we don't know how much they'll cost. There's a chance it might actually work out cheaper to buy 10 tickets directly than to buy a subscription to get them.

Buying the two DLCs now is only slightly more expensive than a month of ESO+, so if you don’t really want the ESO+ perks, it’s a better deal to buy them outright while they’re on sale

Tbh Dark Brotherhood is worth buying for the Shadow Rider passive alone, it’s such a nice QoL passive not having everything aggro from ten yards

As someone who has done absolutely nothing towards getting these mounts to find out that I could turn around n just Buy what y’all have been putting months worth of effort into....I mean... I get it... but somehow diminishes the Collector quality of these mounts...

Nah, making berries purchasable does not really diminish that
the concept of having limited tickets on accounts and gathering up multiple berries to morph the mount is stupid to begin with

have been sitting on a stack of 10 event tickets from before off-season Mid-Year Mayhem
and not bothered to participate in any events since maxing my tickets during New Life
personally only want the white/snow morph, and the constant events and promotion of ticket farming has only served to help me feel burnt out on the game

the ridiculous aspect of cash shop tickets is that it 'encourages' people to burn tickets on morphing their Indrik then just buying up a second one to evolve in a later season

I wouldn't worry about it, the mount is pretty annoying anyway regardless of which colour it is.

Personally I would stick with the plan of saving up for the 4-in-one combo pack. Even with the sale I think it is cheaper overall. The bundle is 5,500 crowns, Orsinium and IC are 5,500 crowns if you get them individually. So with the bundle you get Orsinium, IC, TG, and DB for just the cost of Orsinium + IC. Such bargain, much wow.

As for the tickets, as others mentioned you'll be able to get enough for at least one evolution with the Jester + Anniversary events later this month into next.
Actually with this event I may end up with more tickets than things to get with them.

I wouldn't worry too much about a mount, if it means you have to spend more than you planned to in order to obtain it. At the end of the day it's identical in function to all the other mounts in the game. And sure, while you might be the kind of person who enjoys sitting in your town of choice on the "hot new mount of the month!!!" imagining all the players running past you are swooning in your presence, it won't be long before there's a new month's hotness everyone wants to be mounted on in towns anyway.

The whole point of the event is to be an advertising promotion for the purpose of selling you a DLC pack; an ESO + subscription; or Crown crates; or a Crown Store mount.

If you don't have budget for expansions, then you miss out. It's that simple.

A bit late for you but if an event offers over 20 tickets you can get the feather/berry/whatever and then earn and bank another 10 for when content you cant/wont do turns up.

I guess I have a totally different viewpoint on it.

On the one hand, since one could have gotten the tickets via gameplay, I feel like people spending money for it is sad since they're wasting their money ("a fool and his money are soon parted", etc)

On the other hand, it's nice that they give a "catch up" mechanic for people who joined the game too late to get all those tickets that have already gone by.


And finally, I've never understood the whole "collector value" thing, where something is only meaningful to you if other people don't have it and/or if they had to go through the same fake "struggle" it took you to get it. Get the mount if you like & want it, skip it if you don't - don't attribute 'value' to it based on you having it & others not. (or you having gotten it the "real" way)


disclaimer - I don't care about the mount, and haven't spent any of the dozens of tickets I've gained over the last year. The only mount I have that I use is the basic black Crown Store horse. Got a few ugly shiny things from free crown crates, but they're ugly.

This mount will be available at events all year. It also seems they are upping the events this year so that people have more chances. The berries will only be available for the first quarter IIRC. But next season will be new berries for a different version of the same mount.

You will have to accept that you wont be able to acquire everything with limited funds. But you will have all year to the get the mount and upgrade it to one of the versions. Also you can usually get enough tickets for at least two event items per event so if you miss an event or can only do part of it you can still collect the mounts.

@Loulong well if you do have other games you don't play what I would actually suggest is to trade them in to GameStop and see if you can get enough money to purchase elswyr or however it's spelled. That would give you that dlc plus all their other expansions so you can get Morrowind and summerset free along with the new one upon release. Idk if that helps you or not but it is a nice way to save money if you need them.

You would probably get more selling on Facebook Marketplace over Gamestop. lol.
