Sneaking to a Scuttlebloom n Murkmire will let you harvest it, it drops honey, alchemy solvents and very rarely a Scuttlebloom furnishing item of the Conservatory kind.

    Scuttlebloom.jpg

Scuttleblooms can be found in the wild in Murkmire, around the outskirts of Death-Water village for example.

A small tip for explorers: if you hold down block, your character would be less prone to slide from the cliffs and will also move slower, so you can fine tune your position easier. It makes climbing steep hills immensely easier and in some areas it is the only way to move to certain places

When Splitting a Stack or Retrieving items, you can click where the numbers are and type in the amount rather than use the + or - to get the number you want.

If you have Multicraft addon, you can mass Refine a stack by putting in a number equal to or greater than the amount of raw mats you have.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Really? Where? How long? Does it work in MA?!

    @RodneyRegis
Look for an old Orc woman (Batasha) eating a leg of meat at the side of the road, with a backpack on the ground next to her. It's one of the "random encounters" for the zone, in the same locations as the old warrior who wants a last duel, or the City Solicitor collecting donations for the rebuilding of Orsinium - there are achievements for those two if you do enough, BTW. The easiest way to find the locations is to use the Destinations addon (or possibly Map Pins). I think the 5% stam regen bonus lasts for half an hour and does NOT apply in MA either, sorry.

Note: you apparently only encounter her if you freed her from the Vosh Rahk in a side quest (not sure if it's Paragon's Remembrance or Honor's Rest).

Skills and Skill lines gain XP when they are on your bars. So when leveling new character, put skills on the bar that you want to level when turning in quests.

Also, wear 2/2/3 armor (light, med, heavy) when leveling, so when you get to 50, your armor lines should be maxed out (or nearly). Then if you ever decide you want to change roles you'll already have all the armor lines maxed out. Early on you own't have enough armor passives to need to run 5/1/1 or 5/2, etc anyway.

If you want to level a weapon skill line fast when your higher level, put that weapon on and every skill from that line you can. Do a random normal and make sure to switch to that bar right before boss dies.

Lastly, don't read book shelves for skill books early on. Wait till your nearing max level, then start spamming book shelves. Gaining a full skill point in the 40s is much better gain than gaining a full skill point in the 1-20s.

Doing a daily random normal is a great way to get a lot of xp (for the first one each day), but you can't switch gear during combat. If you really want to level up those skills, you need to have that second bar active when the final boss dies, i.e. you will probably not have many useful skills available at the time. This only works for some boss fight situations. Don't worry too much about maxing your skill line gains from random normals - it's a lot easier to switch to that second bar or skills setup whenever you turn in a quest instead. The daily repeatable quests for special events are great for this, especially if you are also getting a double xp bonus from the event.

Grab all the town houses. This allows you to quickly port to a main town for free from anywhere.

It is prudent to be in a guild, even if its a trading guild and not a social one. Right clicking on any of the guild members brings up an option to travel to them or to their primary residence. Most guilds have 'guild residences' which have merchants, bankers and the various crafting stations.

Use this when you have finished a dungeon, rather than just leaving group and waiting for the port. That way, you still have free port, you have access to sell items and the other players might be able to finish up their quests or grab items. You can still trade of you need some of the items so its a win win for everyone.

Its good to quest in pairs as the exp gained is shared equally, quest obj can be done much more quickly and bosses, esp world bosses can be defeated much easily as well. Running random dungeons goes faster as well since you have already filled some of the roles needed.

Once you have a crafter (or if you can get a crafter) , craft the innate axiom sets of armor for each 10 levels of your character and upgrade it right up till blue or purple. You don't need a second set per 10 lvls as the good thing about this set is that it's a hybrid set, which makes it excellent for levelling. Not only that, since it boosts class abilities and you are going to level each class skill line regardless, you will be able to skim through much of the overland.

Also, craft 3 heavy armor of the innate axiom and 2 weapons. This is so you can pick up whatever armor for the other slots and still use this set for your other alts. Keeping it to every 10 levels means you don't have to change gear often and allowing you as much downtime as possible while levelling.

I'll keep this thread up whenever I can, there's some good tips in here for both new and old players.

I disagree with several of these. The skill book advice is only accurate for crafting, so you might choose to sacrifice that benefit so as to level weapon and class skill lines early. The skill line XP advice is true for class and weapon skill lines mainly (but the skill part is true for all active ones). And on the PC, where add-ons make it easy for you to change gear just for quest turn-in later on, there's nothing wrong with leveling in light or medium armor.

Great suggestions guys! To expand on one, you can slot your werewolf skills on your bar even when not in werewolf form. You cannot use them of course, but this will allow you to level 1 or 2 at a time while you are not in form.

And yes its worth getting all three of the free houses, you get a light furnishing with them too, and while you are questing etc, you can place some of the furnishings in there to store or just to see if you want to keep them.

My 2 cents from similar thread:

    Well I mostly PvP so:

When you have a lot of Tel Vars and you afraid to lose them, you can use Imperial sigil of retreat (you can buy it for 10k AP in sewers base), you can also use command /stuck (once per hour if I remember well) or simply switch to other campaign if you don't have sigils.

When sieging a keep you encounter heavy resistance on the breach you can use your mount with rapids to get through the breach much faster than on foot thus avoiding a lot of incoming siege damage and spreading chaos in defenders lines.

You can also ride mounts inside outposts (like Sejanus, Nikel, Bleakers etc. but not inside inner outposts of keeps), thus avoiding defenders and oils.

Killing boss in any dung in Cyrodiil gives you 1 hour long bonus increasing APs you earn by 20%.

You can use siege weapons to take down resources guards much faster.

You can repair Camps using siege repair kits.

Quest to kill 40 players is harder to finish in group because it counts only for 1 person in that group, the one who did final blow, while when running solo all you need to do is to deal some damage to player.

You can Whisp to someone when just knowing their character name (without @id). Simply type /w CharacterName and follow it with comma e.g.: /w Mayrael,

    Crafting:
Deconstructing equipment made by other players gives more exp than deconstructing looted stuff and is fastest way to lvlup most crafting skill lines (except of alchemy and provisioning).

    2. Magical damage is not a damage dealt with all magicka-based abilities. Magicka-based abilities can deal several types of damage: magical, fire, shock, frost (and sometimes other types such as oblivion damage, decease, etc.), so magical damage is just one of these damage types. The same with physical damage. The following are different damage types: magical, fire, frost, shock, physical, poison, decease, oblivion.
    (..)

    Keep in mind that:

    - Magical Damage is not the same as Spell Damage
    - Physical Damage is not the same as Weapon Damage

Spell Damage and Weapon Damage are base stats (that can be increased/decreased themselves) and increase the damage types that @Ermiq listed.

    In general and afaik:

    - Spell Damage increases: Magical Damage, Fire Damage, Shock Damage, Frost Damage
    - Weapon Damage increases: Physical Damage, Bleed Damage, Poison Damage, Disease Damage

Example: the set "Strength of the Automaton" adds 400 weapon dmg to your physical dmg abilities only, which means that skills with poison/disease/bleed dmg are not affected and remain unbuffed.
