I’ve never done maelstrom arena before and I’m looking to try it out. Which class do you think is the easiest or best for completeing VMA?

A lot of people are trying this build and saying it works well. It is a single bar build. I haven't tried it yet but friends have and they like it.

I'm doing VMA as we speak, just waiting for my quest to reset. I had tons of difficulty here until I started using the Magicka Sorcerer 1-Bar Pet Build, it made things x10 easier and gave me enough breathing room to learn the mechanics of each stage. My first clear was 2 days ago, now I can do all stages with only 1-2 deaths and I'm #77 on the Sorcerer leaderboards!

You could be handed a Flawless build and still fail a million times. The build isn't what makes vMA any 'easier', IMO. It's exposure and familiarity.

Jump on a class you enjoy and go die a lot. Then die less. Then don't die.
Wake up, we're here. Why are you shaking? Are you ok? Wake up...

Magblade, magsorc, stamsorc. No particular order.

They all have good damage and great self heals (Swallow Soul for the magblade, Crit Surge/Power Surge for the sorcs).

Magsorc, no pets, lightning build, one extra staff for "deadric" stages with prismatic enchants. Easy mode.

    I run a sorcerer.

I just use a spammable (elemental weapon) and power surge. I move way too much to lay down dots. My technique is spray and pray!!

This is going to sound stupid and corny, but pick the class you enjoy playing and understand the best.

My templar is a flawless conquerer, my sorc pet build (pre shield nerf) barely made stormproof.

Nothing can substitute firsthand knowledge and experience, but you can shore up a lot of confusion using guides. Joy Division has a great one on the forums here somewhere, and there are several youtube videos.

If you go stam, consider 2h/bow with fortified brass and vicious ophidian. Tougher, faster, more sustain and more burst than dual wield.

Experience is key first & foremost. MagDK was my first but I feel my pet sorc was pretty easy as well.

What did you need beyond Burning Embers and Flappy Wings?

For that matter -- which morph of Flappy Wings served you better?

    '1-bar PetSorc vMA build'

The only way I could finish vMA was following this video:

I'm terrible as dps, but that way I finished many times.

I've run it a ton a magnb with shackle mothers sorrow and skoria. Only shackle instead of a pure damage set because in vma you roll and interrupt alot.

    Interesting. Medium armour?

Yes. I hate playing stam dk and stam warden, but I got both of them stormproof with 1-3 deaths using that setup when I was farming vma. At least I have my 5 bows now!

WW can legitimately carry you in vma. I got flawless in less than 10 total runs across all characters. Took a few rounds of frustrated googling, but once you figure out when and how to do what, WW is laughably easy in there.

Werewolf is also really strong. My templar wolf got her stormproof first time in the arena, without dropping form.

    THIS

If I might add, making a tankier build for the initial training will help a lot!
Having time to learn the mechanics and identify priority targets without being one shot will significantly reduce the time to learn vMA.

Think magblade used to be good in there, now there are better options. If you’re used to magblade then there’s no reason to change.
Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

My first answer to that question is always, "whatever class you have the most experience playing will likely be the easiest for you."

If you had never touched ESO, I would say mag sorc (with pets) is the easiest and mageblade is the fastest. Stam sorc is also very easy if you play stam well and have VO gear.

Basically, you want a class with ranged DPS and passive heals. That screams mSorc and mNB.
