The Psijic Quest Line

I'm not too sure why people are defending a key storyline of quests being just fetch quests (which takes like 5 hours to do) with a 3 second final boss fight at the end. I personally prefer doing the mages guild skill line though this isn't much better either. At least there's some lore books which some players could be interested in though.
Overload rework. Power Overload now does physical damage and grants you the power of a tornado: You throw a brick at the target with a light attack, and you hammer your head into that brick with every heavy attack. We have decreased its Ultimate cost, but increased the chance that you get stuck in the animation.

OMG, lol. Talk about being a little slow to respond. It has been almost a year since we first saw those quests on the PTS. I suggest providing feedback like this a little earlier in the process if you want Zos to consider it. At this point and time it is, well, pointless.

Edit: the point of the quests are not the quests themselves as much as the dialogue with the skull. Granted, some people just do not get it, but that is ok. Their loss.

@idk , idk. :P First time around, those dialogues are funny, but they stop being funny really soon, and then what remains is that awkward feeling of some chattering skull breaking fourth wall and turning Psijics story into a farce.

Cancer? Undaunted grind is cancer. Mages guild grind is cancer, at least if you are a disregarded player on console who is forced to play without a lorebook add on since the devs dont care about us. But psijic order? Its pretty boring but easy and it doesnt take very long. A couple hours if you put your mind to it.

    Undaunted is bad.

not sure if that comment is fair - it's not like people don't want to do the questline, they just don't want to do it 10 times in a row for every character...and as said i am 100% convinved that making a game more alt friendly will increase monetization

Even beyond that, At least in the mages guild, you get to go learn things from shaldor, and get into the mages guild pocket realm. With the psyijics you learn nothing about why they disappeared what they had been doing, a whole bunch of nothing...

Apples and oranges. The part with Shalidor is the mages guild quest, not the grind. You still had to grind lore books out the ass to level the actual skill line itself. I can see why you might be disappointed if you assume you only get to see the psijic guild during the level up, but the truth is they play a big part in the main Summerset quest line. You do definitely get to learn a lot about them it's just not in the level up quest that you do.

Perhaps it is an itchy claw, a spot on the end of the nose, a bad fur day, frizzy whiskers or the tail caught in a cupboard door.

It is not cancer though traveller.

@John_Falstaff Pretty much the case with most every quest in most every MMORPG. Besides stating something that is so obvious across the board not sure what your point is about what I said.

Being a devil's advocate... Undaunted can be different. I've fully leveled it in two or three days just by enjoying the game, mostly on evenings. If you're confident, put together a team of guildies and run for achievements - even with only non-DLCs, a handful of HMs, speedruns and nodeaths will make Undaunted levels come blazing fast, and I think minor achievements pile up on that too (like crawling through vICP without being noticed by vigilant watchers).

So I replied that skull dialogue isn't much to pay for (and this quest is a part of a paid chapter), it's not telling anything about Psijics per se, it breaks fourth wall, and the jokes are a giggle only at first. And I would also say that not all quests (and in not all MMORPGs) are comedy show of a skull that makes references to RL setting. Some are quite immersive.

How does a tedious but easy set of find and retrieve quests compare to a life threatening, debilitating, incurable disease?

Do you mean that the quest line is a malignant, growing tumour that is slowly poisoning and siphoning the life out of the game?

Or: an evil or destructive practice or phenomenon that is hard to contain or eradicate

Or do you mean you just don't like it?

Word choice, register, syntax and context are important in this world -- use them wisely...

Not sure why people need add-ons to do this. It's not like the NPC gives you a map with Xs that are pretty damn accurate.

It took me 4 days to complete this quest line. I did it lazily, on a new char, the mount was slow. I used Alcast's quide and map. It is really an easly skill line.

What is with this trend of comparing video games to tragic and fatal diseases?

Do kids these days not actually know what cancer is?

I had the guide open on my phone while I played the game on my Xbox... run through it with 3 characters, a quest intermittently thrown between other activities -- what isn't possible?

Indeed tedious, monotonous, repetitive, unimaginative, uninspiring, mind-numbing, but -- you only need to endure it long enough to get the skills you need from the skill line. Want that ultimate -- that's the ultimate sacrifice

You can't have an addon guide you to the place. Sure, you can look at a map on another device, but that is not the same thing.

My PS4 TV is right next to my computer, so I do use both together a lot, but finding some things is much more challenging than if it was integrated into the system.

I merely made an observation that the quests were about the dialogue with the skull, and you agreed with it in both posts you tagged me in by distinctly saying the dialogue was funny each time.

Glad you agree, the rest seems kind of odd. The fact that quests in MMORPGs differ and that the enjoyment of quests diminish each time you repeat it is rather irrelevant. Heck, most quests in most games I just speed through after doing it once or twice. It just seems silly and pointless to argue about that as it is rather expected and normal.

Regardless, it is a plus and seems to be a success if you got enjoyment out of it the first time, as you have said you did.

I don't mind it. Just queue up 3 new albums to listen to and ride around on your mount a bit. Nice change of pace to be honest.

The worst part of the whole thing is the stupid voice. It's not even close to being funny. At all.

The quest-line is a bit tedious for sure, but I think the skill line is well worth the effort - especially the meditate, mend wounds, and time-stop.

Plus...the Augur keeps you company.

    I like the Augur!
