At least for the mages guild, when your questing you can gather the books as you go, this you have to specifically go here and there, and you learn nothing about the Psyijis.1 -

honestly, my issue with ESO has been all along that i think it is really not alt friendly - and i don't understand why...people having lots of alt is good for zos business (the more alts the more likely you buy different outifts etc.etc.)
I think a) achievements should be per account and b) these type of skill lines should be per account or if you can't do that / think its too much, at least alts should get a hefty bonus in leveling them...for example they only require 50% of the quests / get double the xp or something like that2 -

not sure if that comment is fair - it's not like people don't want to do the questline, they just don't want to do it 10 times in a row for every character...and as said i am 100% convinved that making a game more alt friendly will increase monetization1 -

Even beyond that, At least in the mages guild, you get to go learn things from shaldor, and get into the mages guild pocket realm. Psijic skill line is okay if you do questing first and have wayshrines unlocked and mount speed on max. With new chars its horrible tho.0 -
I did it on 8 chars. Between 3rd and 4th I thought it's the pinnacle of boredom, but no, on the 5th I've realized it's so damn short and easy. And it's the only thing you need for levelling the skillline. Not like Mages, Thives, Undaunted, Fighters, DB, you don't need to earn points to recieve next quest, no killing tons of mobs for further progress after it's ending, no collecting books, no everyday dungeons for weeeeks, just run a bit around the map and voila - lvl 10. You don't have a wayshrine unlocked - find a big guild, travel to guild members, or even ask them to help with porting. When you know you will need to repeate those quest on other chars - make screenshots with the exact locations, it helps a lot.0 -
Fata1moose✭✭✭✭✭It's not cancer, but it's certainly unacceptable padding for a paid story expansion. I'd rather the Psijic questline not exist at all if that's all they could do in the amount of time they had. Perhaps the Psijic questline should have been a separate story dlc if they were in crunch with Summerset. Hopefully they won't do something like that in the future.1 -
blacksghost✭✭✭✭Cancer is a terrible series of diseases that ruin lives. Robs children of parents and parents of children it is NOT a mildly irksome quest in a game or any other irritating aspect of a game.
If you don’t like a quest don’t do it.Everything will be alright in the end, if its not alright its not the end.7 -

Thats actually a good idea, for "guild and DLC skill lines" they could implement a passive skill at max level that boosts xp gain for that skill line by 25/50 % on any new alt (max 200% or with 4 characters with skillpoints in said skill you get 200% xp on any new character).

✭✭✭✭✭You couldn’t pay me enough to grind Psijic on console, it’s a dredge on pc with add on help, it would be bran cell murder if I had to do it without any assistance. I’ve done it on 3 characters and while I love the map, zones, and the quests themselves, the where’s Waldo aspect of the rifts just gets so redundant

Reaper_00✭✭✭✭It’s not really that bad. I levelled my char up from level 1 to 10 in half a day over the last week end. Using rapids it doesn’t really take that long to ride between locations.
It’s no where near as bad as trying to level dark brotherhood or thieves guild skill lines!1 -

I like to think the guys that spout it are doing so because they've been fortunate enough in life and as of yet haven't had to endure someone close go through the disease. So use the term as a meaningless throwaway sound bite.
To be fair to them, every generation of kids/teens do the same thing. When I was in my teens (the 80's), people would laugh and joke about AIDS. Younger people laughed at seeing Ethiopian kids on TV starving and so on. No point looking back at our generation, whatever that generation may be, and pretend we were all beacons of holy light.

I force myself to do the Psijic line for my tanks, I love meditate for free resources and usually manage to find room for another skill, meaning I have a nice buff to my blocking from the Psijic damage shield.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I far prefer just riding around collection lore books. The Psijic is just tedious and requires just enough attention that you can just drift off and listen to music or something. And you have to keep teleporting back to Arteum, it’s a giant pain. In terms of total time I think undaunted is the worst just becusee it takes so long, but Psijic takes the cake for making me want to throw my computer out the window.2 -
mayasunrising✭✭✭✭✭The quest-line is a bit tedious for sure, but I think the skill line is well worth the effort - especially the meditate, mend wounds, and time-stop.

The one thing I agree is that the Psijics deserved a much better and interesting questline, especially because everything else is so well done. I love Artaeum and how the Summerset story connects with the Psijics.
It is boring, but think about collecting the same books all over again, or grinding dolmens, dungeons, etc. The worst is finding and opening locked chests...[PC/EU] Tamriel Hero, Stormproof, Grand Master Crafter1
