Just announced during ESO Live.

Next week PTS will be the last one (yes there will be an update) with the release of U21 coming right after.

PC: February 25

Consoles: March 12

Don't expect any major changes for next weeks PTS as it will be the release version and they won't deploy major changes anymore.

Did they say not to expect any major changes or are you just assuming that?

I'm assuming that. It's highly unlikely they will update the PTS with some major changes and bring it live one week later. They would have done that already if they planned to deploy major changes. That's my opinion though.

Well, maybe I should have specified that. I think numerical changes (e.g. +12% instead of +10% Crit on a racial) are likely but entire redesigns or implementations of new racials are very unlikely. But we will see!

Anyone have any idea how big the release version is likely to be?

Nev' mind. It's on the patch notes page: 3.53 gig on PTS. So probably at least that, if not a bit more. Ugh. I'll be over my limit again....

It's not anything like that, it's just that console performance is so bad it takes it 2 full weeks just to process that the update is available.

For you on console: the reality is that your providers (MS, Sony) are the problem. They have to nit-noid.... This particular thing is NOT the fault of ZOS.

It is though.. Sure console is ***, but there are other games that do it just fine. Im guessing it all comes down to their timing of updates. Of course no PC player wants to wait longer to get an update if they dont have to. But from a developer standpoint, if you actually cared equally, you could time it so they both came out at the same time. And players would never know the difference, just that it was equal. All platforms got the release roughly on the same day.

Instead us on console have to wait an extra 2-3 weeks.. It may not be a huge deal with wrathstone but it is a huge issue when it comes to elsweyr and bug patches. Obviously theres nothing zos can do about patches for big issues and bugs. If its going to take extra time to get it to console then thats how it is. We just have to tolerate the issue in the meantime. But with something like elsweyr, or any update introducing some new system or class to the game, it really sucks for us.

We have to wait while PC players get to play a new class, or try a new system. I suppose you could go watch a PC streamer or youtuber try it out, but its probably worse doing that.. I would imagine its especially worse for console content creators. Like if you're a twitch streamer, for example. Who wants to watch you play last patch when theres a PC streamer playing a new class and a new update? Idk, maybe thats not how twitch viewers think, im not really into twitch tbh. But it just seems to me with all the negative differences playing on console, compared to PC, that zos doesnt really care about console. And this isnt my biggest issue, i was just saying my opinion. My biggest issue is the performance and optimization difference. So @kypranb14_ESO you're right on that note.

Er.... well... I could actually wait forever for 3.5 gigs of content I don't really want, you know..... But since I'm not given the option...

I don't give a rat's patoot about the new class. I don't actually care about ANYTHING that's in 3.5+ gigs of the next content. But I have no choice.... I HAVE to download it - or not play.

I live in a place where "broadband" is defined by "satellite". I really don't have any other option. Period. So.... I'm going to have to pay my sat provider a LOT of money after I go over limit. Or I can't play the game.

Yeah, I got sick of the console performance. That's why I spent a small fortune building a PC. Then I bought ESO on PC, and re-earned all my CP. I'm still working on re-obtaining 100% completion again though.

Well ya if you dont care much about it then I understand why you wouldnt mind waiting. Would probably be better for you in your specific situation. But you dont even want to explore elsweyr?

And thats unfortunately how a most online games work. Dont think theres any way around having to download it. And that internet issue sounds unfortunate. If you were a pvp player, specifically cyrodil, you would probably end up pulling your hair out. But sometimes this game runs good for people with bad internet, and runs bad for people with good internet. Its strange but thats what sometimes seems to be the case.. I pay a lot for very good internet and it still runs terrible on console. Runs pretty good on my PC though, except for vivec.. But paying if you go over your limit, thats rough..

Ive tried in the past. Im currently trying again.. But every time i spend a couple weeks grinding i just get pissed that they wont offer a transfer, and i quit. Its so much better on PC. Like night and day. And they have to know that. Given that information, they should do everything in their power to offer console to PC (only) transfers. If you are going to leave one platform in shambles then the LEAST you can do is let the people willing to buy the game again bring their stuff with them.

Of course that wouldnt help people like you who already did it. But ive played console for 3 years. My 2 main pvp/pve characters have done most of anything the game has to offer so I doubt ill restart. If I do continue grinding CP on this PC account it will be 1 character just to pvp and have the damnn thing work. Because sadly i can put this game side by side on console and PC and get different results. 1 works, 1 does not.

Eh.... yeah. Played WoW and RIFT from 2006 through 2016.... so yah, I know how it works. First world problems....

I already upgraded my plan, but it's still not anywhere close to optimal, and y'know - there's windows updates, and programs I use for my web management business.... that cuts into my bandwidth in a big way. I wish I could get mobile here - that would be a really great option.

But.... you know.... where I live, we don't have mobile. Or "real" tv. All we have is satellite - tv, internet - and the only phone option is land line - nope, mobile doesn't work here (daughter and SIL have the latest and greatest i Phones - they have no service here.....)

Pretty funny really - we're only 40 miles north of "real" access - except that 40 miles is the single biggest laccolith (magnetic not quite real granite yet) mountain in the world. Yep. I actually live in the lower 48 - cleanest air and water in the entire country....

    But no real internet...

PC gets update directly after testing. Console version after all the testing needs to be applied for approval and approval takes time. You want bugged 1st PTS version while PC will have fully tested one just so it will update for everyone at the same time or what?

I believe part of what he was saying is that they should have PC wait until console is approved by Sony/Ms and release both on the same day. If they had started doing that in the beginning, no one would have cause to whinge. I kinda agree. Why make console wait? Just have PC released on the same day. Coulda woulda shoulda.

Hindsight being 20/20 and all that. Won't happen, and I can live with that.

It's all comes down to console peasants and PC master race!!:D
Can you please knock it off with that nonsense? Thanks.

Yeah, I got sick of the console performance. That's why I spent a small fortune building a PC. Then I bought ESO on PC, and re-earned all my CP. I'm still working on re-obtaining 100% completion again though.

I wish you luck man, like I said I know how it feels. I suggest just trying to enjoy the game again. Don't simply try to grind through the game if you can help it. I transferred in late 2017. I lost 10 max level, fully geared out characters. Two of each class, one magicka, one stamina, and max CP at the time. One character had 100% game completion

Rather than thinking of it as a grind, I think of it as an oppurtunity. An oppertunity to achieve it all again on another platform. After all, how many can say they have 100% game completion on multiple platforms, right?

What PC server do you play on? If it's PC-NA, I can help you out sometime. I don't do Skyreach runs or anything. Maybe we can farm some gear or run some dungeons though.

One more thing. Have you tried using a SSD with your Xbox? I tried a Samsung 850 EVO and ESO's console performance improved drastically. Might be worth a try if you REALLY don't want to start over.

Problem is that this would not benefit consoles in any way. dlc is done, send to for console verification, released two weeks later. Find bug who only show up on on live because higher server load, say an quest npc for dlc main quest does rarely spawn.
PC get maintenance next day consoles has to wait for patch next week rater than bug got catch early on pc.
its an difference is that ZoS can patch at any time on pc.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
