More Steam issues...Not recognizing the game being installed and wants to install again.

Went to log in this am and Steam won't let me, telling me my game is not installed. Went to the correct folder and all files for the game are still there. So I went to the Steam forums and saw that some people were having the same issue and someone said they were stuck in an uninstall/re-install loop last night. They reported the only way they could get out of the loop of un-installs and re-installs was to manually delete the game before steam installed it yet again. I am attempting to install the game onto a another drive in the computer hoping this solves my issue. Has anyone else run into the game is not installed and install prompt when trying to play last night/this am? WHEN will they let us unlink from STEAM?? I am so sorry, I decided to link the game i purchased from Bethesda to my steam account.
