If I think anyone "owes" me anything, then by definition I don't want anything for free because I consider that thing to have been earned.

I see the posts and complaints about not getting free crates during eso+ events, etc. I could not really care less. But I do subscribe and feel the value/cost proposition is a little iffy. I think some additional subscription perks for subscribing would be nice to give a better feeling of value. So no, I don't want free stuff. I think I would like a little more for what I'm paying than I get currently though.

Not sure exactly what that should be, but right at the moment if somebody asked whether they should subscribe too, I'd give them a firm, "ehhh". I do it because I'm basically an addict and eso is my crack. For anybody else, I can't really imagine it being worthwhile.

When I wrote this response, I didn't realize this was "ESO+ Free Trial" time.

So, at this moment, ZOS is continuing to take my money for a service they are giving away for free to anyone who isn't actually paying. So no, they don't owe me anything. They don't have to compensate me in any way for the five days of ESO+ that I'm buying despite those days being free.

However, if they value me as a customer, I would expect them to feel compelled to do something to make up for this. It should be literally impossible to take my money for a free thing without giving me some sign of appreciation during that time--unless, of course, I am not appreciated. We're not talking about rules of exchange here, but about the lower limits to how you treat people you value, appreciate, and/or respect. By giving subscribers nothing, they break no rules of commerce, but they unambiguously state that the customer is neither respected nor valued.

But hey, it's good to know where you stand.

I'm 'owed' a good-faith-effort on the game providers part to supply a playable game of the flavor as described when I bought it.

Game provider is falling on it's face in several areas, (in random order):

1. Provider isn't doing an adequate job swatting bots and bot-trains that are farming nodes and NPC kills.
2. Provider isn't adequately addressing server lag and ping.
3. Provider isn't adequately addressing instability and lag in PvP areas or higher traffic PvE zones.

What I think I'm owed is not having to witness the rapid deterioration of the functionality of the dungeon finder. Anyone with half a brain can see it's a capacity problem, and it started out with sundays after 17 pm and weekdays between 20:00 and 22:00, and now I have to hurry home after work to get some randoms done before 19:00 when everything just falls apart.

Yes, I think I'm owed being able to enter a random dungeon with a full party present when queueing. Silly me....

I chose other since I see things from both perspectives.

On one hand, free is free. Anything given beyond the crafting bag and inventory increases is a bonus.

On the other hand, giving out bonuses for subscribing, only for them to be taken away for no reason is pretty aggravating.

I have been subscribing since I started playing. I choose to purchase the subscription based on the benefits that it gives me.

When they give free trials... fine, they are offering others the opportunity to try it out, and hopefully subscribe. Was it nice of them to give current subscribers something "extra" while they were offering these... yeah... did they have to... hell no.

When they gave free login rewards... fine, I was logging in nearly everyday anyways. Who cares if the rewards have gotten "worse"... it's still more than what we had before. There is still something to be used, if you don't like them, destroy, don't login (Although I do wish there was an option in the acceptance to "accept but not add to inventory" but that's a very, very tiny complaint)

The people who argue they are "owed" something are the same types of people, who, when purchasing something IRL, will go back and complain when it goes on sale in the next few weeks claiming they got "cheated".

You choose if the thing you are purchasing is worth the cost. You can't factor in things you "might" get in the future, or things that have been given historically in the past. It's like creating your budget and factoring in an optional bonus you might get at work when deciding how much house/apartment to purchase... you don't know you're going to get that, you can't factor that into your decisions.

Since I pay for a subscription I technically get a lot of things that f2p players don't get and I am content with the free items. I never complain about what is offered for monthly deals etc.

However, I do believe that I am owed a game that works - and it does, 99% of the time. I only find myself frustrated when I PvP in Cyrodiil. Performance drops and disconnects happen when large numbers of players stack quickly, which is unfortunate for many reasons that I won't go into here.

TL;DR VERSION I'm already given a lot through my sub but do believe that for the money I pay that performance should be decent in Cyrodiil which is what I play for - the AvA (and I would gladly pay more if it fixed the performance issues)
