I'm a returning player, just hit around 300cp and was wondering what kind of cp or gear i would need to be able to challenge vMA. Currently im running automaton/hundings with stormfist monster set 2h/bow and I just wanted some input before i dove headfirst into a brick wall.

I figure you're stamina, so you'll probably no matter what want to use 5 pieces of vicious ophidian (from Craglorn trials) for sustain and mobility. with a stamina NB khajiit at max CP I pair it with hundings

Realize that you probably won't complete it for the first time in one sitting. It can be completed at 300 CP, however, it would probably help to read a guide or watch some videos. Again, remember that it won't be as easy as the guides make it out to be on your first try. Also, it saves your progress upon completion of each area, not each round.

I'm not suggesting this as a troll.

But make a sorc. Don't necessarily even need level Undaunted.

Use Valkyn + Plague Doctor + Necropotence.

Then you'll only need one bar and can farm that sweet bow you're probably after.

Looks like you're a stamina sorcerer. Here's a video from 2 months ago. They're wearing Night Mother's Gaze, Slimecraw & Vicious Ophidian.

Also here's Alcast's setup to vMA on stamsorc including Champion points.

I'd drop 2h and go with DW. Put blood craze on your bar. The healing can come in handy...while small, it does help.

Vicious Ophidian goes a long way in vMA, it's useful to farm it.

Also, if you are a stamsorc, Hurricane + Critical surge and Thief mundus will help a lot.

If not, I'd highly suggest Mighty Chudan for monster helm.
I know some might not agree with this, but in essence, for first clears you need far more survivability than damage.
I did Flawless on my CP170 mDK toon wearing Chudan, Fortified Brass and Bloodthorn= defense, defense, and sustain sets.
