This. Not even for the older people. It is ridiculous you have to use a platform/thing you normally don't use and don't enjoy, to get in-game rewards which normal players can't get.

It's marketing. They're trying to get people to interact with the community outside of the game. Companies are allowed to do that. You might have an argument if this gave people a game-breaking advantage, but it's a small cosmetic that most people don't even pay attention to.
