ESO is not a competitive game in the first place. Where are ladders, leagues, match making, tournaments? Have you ever played a competitive game? Even some large scale MMOs are more competitive due to open world PVP and better guild system. Racial passives should stay IMO, because it's still Elder Scrolls.
Weekly trial leaderboards are competative.
Teams try to outscore each other and your placement on the leaderboard determines rewards.Beta tester November 20130 -

Took my main a Khajiit Magsorc healer since prelauch stamina after murkmire nerfs.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.0
