Thoughts on Character Boosts? (Level 50 Boost)

Year 2019 and we still have to grind aaaaaaall the way up to max level in a 5 year old game......
This thing had to be died a decade ago.

It won't make anything pay to win because you are not getting legendary quality rare dungeon items in exchange. You are just getting a max level character. Many of the veteran players have all the classes maxed out already and they play the fotm. Let them newbies play too.
It's a win-win situation for everyone - zeni makes extra money to spend for server performance(lol), new players skip the boring grind, and the old players will have more newbies to farm in towers lol.

IF it brought income that would improve performance sure why not - I really don't care. I would never buy it because getting to lvl 50 is trivial compared to all the other stuff I "need" before I can call my character ready.

Also everyone knows that character creation takes 6 months feeding the horse

If the game had a bloated amount of levels (As in character levels, not this CP Character level stuff) thst took a long time to really get anywhere, I'd be inclined to say "Arguably could have a place as a thing to buy".

However, this is not World of Warcraft with 120 levels, and 50 levels are not that bad to get by. I have a Khajiit character who I have mostly been exploring places with, doing dailies around Hew's Bane and The Gold Coast, while mixing it up with dungeons and Battlegrounds when able. Already level 37 with him and I think I've been playing him for... Eight days in the evenings.

I don't mind because you still have to collect skyshards, lorebooks, kill public dungeon bosses, and follow the main story in each zone to get extra skill points. You'll be 50 by then or close enough anyway. Seems pointless to me but I'm not against it either.

I don't get it. You want to allow brand-new players to instantly boost to Level 50?

New characters get the massive CP boost when they hit Level 50, provided there is another character that has all those CP points. No need to change this

What do you mean by character boost?
    Free insta lvl 50?
Or buy character boost from crown store to insta level 50 your character.

Only if free. Else, it's pay to win. Even if free, it'll enhance people's tendency to play the "flavor of the month" race and build, which will decrease diversity and thereby fun in the game.

Who is OP because they got to level 50 fast? I don't buy the p2w argument. Everyone ends up hitting the same progression wall.

I'm skeptical about the fotm claims due to the large investment to get the unlocks needed to be competitive and the fact that the people who will do that already have a lot of alts they can switch to and alter slightly to be fotm. There is also already race change, which is likely cheaper than leveling to 50 would be. All the leveling to 50 is really doing is making it easier for newer players to get alts. It likely won't matter to long-time players apart form when new character slots or new classes are added.

Free clearly makes no sense as there needs to be some barrier to people doing this on a whim.

Only because Hell No wasn't an option.

L50 is stupid easy to obtain, even more so with XP scrolls handed out like candy for logging in, as leveling rewards, and with 2x XP events every other week.

Don't be lazy. Play the game.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.

Honestly i would like a selfish option . If you have lvled that character before then u can get a boost on same type of character. I really think people need to lvl even if they grind so they learn there class.

Only to level 50. No skyshards, skill points, crafting, undaunted, mages/fighters guild, horse.

Only if you have leveled one of that class already.

What is the point since you won’t have passives and you’ll still have to collect skyshards for skill points. Just enjoy the ride.

If you clear zones fully, it only takes to about the third zone to reach level 50, even less if you join level during a double exp event

Just imagine it: A bunch of day-old players running around with lvl50 toons with no clue how to play them, no skill points to be worth anything in group content...and facerolling overland content. They soon get bored and quit from the easy content...or get bored and quit because no one wants them in a group dungeon or trial. I mean, that problem already exists...but this idea makes it worse...Its like people asking to start in zone 8-4 in Super Mario Brothers because the game has been out for 30 years...that's not how gaming works.

I see many other mmo's that use this method seeing how newer players have to grind champ points anyway... I feel personally it should be added. What do you think?

I have an experience bonus on my character of over 5M that I have yet to exhaust, which helped me level up to 50 and gain CP. I think if you log in daily you get a small amount of XP bonus and if you don't use them all up it stacks. Which is probably why I have so much XP bonus on my character.

You need to level up all Class, Weapon, and Armor skill lines. And if you lvl up from 3 to 50 in the Dolmens, you can also lvl up Fighters Guild skill line.

    So Character Boost is unnecessary.

As I say, this is ESO, not WoW or FFXIV, or any other MMO.

Finally, lvl up from 3 to 50 is not exhausting. It's exhausting to collect Skyshards, Lorebooks etc.
