Anyone tried new solar barrage?

No room to install pts, and I'm wondering if anyone's tried it out. My understanding from patch notes is that it gives unlimited instances of empower for the whole 6 second duration. Wanted to try just keeping this up while weaving spear or elemental weapon. Not expecting crazy dps or anything, but hopefully something fun and decently effective for a casual melee magplar?
