Race change token removed

Race change token exists because whatever change is happening, is not set in stone, things will change, and there are a number of grinds that people would rather not do in that case.

For instance, if my argonian tank were to lose the potion passive, I would change it to something else.

What I wouldn't do is to make another tank and grind everything again.

No of course not. If i ever create a character i become really fond of or put in a lot of time. But it's an Argonian i don't like. I would love to race change instead of creating a new of the same class with another race.

Nope, i want them to stay.

Just people are being sarcastic all races are good balanced and all races are the same now is no reason imho

As I recall, race changes were originally targeted at folks who wanted to play with friends, which hasn't really changed. Using them to min max is only one use.

Just like classes, races will never truly be balanced.

So we get these race changes and the min/maxers determine that race Y is now the best race.

Everyone isn't too angry because they get a free race change token. A lot of people use it to change over to race Y.

Next dungeon pack comes out and with it comes some shiney new sets. Min/maxers parse again and find out that now race Z is preferable to race Y because of the new sets. Now everyone wants to change to race Z but they've already used their free token and ZOS says no more freebies. You want to change, now you have to buy a race change token.

So now, to keep up with meta not only will you have to buy class change tokens but also race change tokens if you want to stay at the top of the game.

As for me, I worry mostly about how it will affect the overall feel of the game feeling like a TES game if they homogenize the races too much. But for others, it could really impact their game play and wallet over time.

In any game that "says" achievements, collectables (lorebooks, skyshards), etc are character bound, there should NEVER be purchasable "swaps". It makes no sense.

Just make everything account wide, and get rid of the tokens. Then if the most meta players want to grind a new character because a race/class/skill change made them 1% worse according to a small sampling of tests, they can; without it being too much of a nightmare.

Long story short...they should just make the Racial passives into a multiple choice selection
Mag- +mag +spelldam +recover

Stam- +Stam +weapdam +recovery

Health- +health +healing +recovery

Add the 3 you want on you character....

No. You have to remember that some people switch their class up from DPS to Healing to Tank at times and thus, race change will still be needed for some players. Easier to just pay a race change than grind everything all over again imo.

No, they shouldn't. That it not the es races. This is not some random world. It's the elder scrolls

Make it an alliance change token ... That will change alliance and also change the guild aliance ... then delete it after I have had my one free one

With all this positive and great support to this suggestion, i am now sending it to ZOS.

I am sure we will all soon enjoy our perfectly balanced races without any racism at trial groups, since every race is balanced right? Freedom, right?

And what comes to people wanting to change race because of cosmetic reasons.. i think there is a saying right now at forum, many keep saying it for all who lost something on racial passive changes (like Bosmer thiefs lost part of their stealthy passive for no reason): "Just adapt."

This right here, is what the community has become. Think about it for a moment.

Absolutely not. Players should have the option of changing the race of their characters regardless of any changes. And different races will still very much have different strengths and weaknesses.

I do think it is ridiculously over priced in the Crown store. A race change token should be far far less expensive.
