Taking Cyrodiil offline would not help fix it in any way whatsoever.

False, unplugging your server for 10 days and turning it back on fixed everything.

That was hilarious! The lag heard 'round the world.

From my perspective, it was disappointing and boring, very far from hilarious. It would have been the same even if we would have won that engagement. Abilities not responding because of massive organized zergs melting the server is not why I subscribe and play this game. What surprised me even more is the fact that it happened on Shor. I don't remember the last time it has been that bad on Vivec.

This is a part of the problem. If you think anything in ESO is a zerg you don't get around much, other mmo's, or never played at launch/have memory loss. The game launched with 600v600v600. Stop blaming your tiny playerbase for playing an openworld/rvr pvp mmo the way it's intended to be played. Wars are won by armies, not small groups. Instead direct that attention towards the devs who've failed you and you continue to support for some crazy reason.

Best response I have seen on the subject so far.

No. I have put that blame toward ZOS for the past 5years. They haven't replied to PvP forums for over 6months now. That cause was lost a long time ago. What remains is what players can do to make the game better.

Hmmm, let me think, what can players do to cause less lag?

Maybe it’s not the best idea to cap emp and take all the faction scrolls hours before primetime when EP is poplocked and the other factions are at 2 bar? So that when primetime rolls around it’s a constant emp dethrone, while the emp is zerg surfing inside of the same AOTP he complains about?

Yeah let’s not hold ZOS responsible and blame the players instead. O but wait that would be…
    rzqe37ljv5fl.jpg

First of all, everytime EP guilds during the day decide to go for scroll, I am the first who ask them politely in zone chat to please leave the tri-home keeps and scrolls alone. Especially since EP is so far ahead on the scoreboard already. Most people don't care and will still push for scrolls mindlessly. Nothing I can do as a player about it.

Secondly, every single time I got emperor on Vivec this campaign, population bars were either 2bars for all or 2bars DC/AD and 3bars EP. Not what you claimed (max pop EP and 2bars for other factions).

Third and not the least, I agree that a dethrone situation is an extremely high load on the server and can be very frustrating for alot of players (the emperor included if he cannot cast skills / crash and can't defend his own emperorship).

Last and not the least, if a certain guild (AotP in this case) is online and decide to go defend the last emp keep, should the emperor leave the keep for that reason and let himself get dethroned? I understand your complains but see no real solution.

This being said, I am pretty sure that if any of you guys complaining and making fun of me would be first on the leaderboard of your faction, you would gladly take it, just as Sqi did a certain night last week at 4:00am EST.

    edit: noice copy pasta

The game is free to play so i'm not sure that has anything to do with Cyrodiil being a heap of garbage.
Just because a company is allowed to sell trash content doesn't mean that players aren't allowed to call them out on it.
Players who are looking to get into the game have the right to know the game is broken and isn't worth their time.

The players are the most broken part of the game.

If it's not Ahtu and Crow laughing about breaking the server, it's the lame small scale scene in this game full of players who mainly want to stomp random casuals.

Atleast the small scale community doesn’t ruin everyone else’s PvP.

    Beast. Come on.
Other games are simply not relevant. Like at all. This game has it own ecosystem. It’s just argumentative to compare it and try to prove some holier-than-thou virtue of zerging isn’t real. Like, it’s real. In the context of the game we all play, in the context of the patch we’re all in, zerging is just as real as it’s ever been.

Also, it’s a bit overgeneralized to definitively say that “wars are won by armies not small groups.” I’m sure a quick trip down history lane would unveil quite a few tactical missions and assassinations that beg to differ.

If they took Cyrodiil offline for a month ESO would lose most of it's PVP Population for good.
We know the potential of Cyrodiil, and a lot have nostalgia over how it once was - but in truth, it now looks like ZOS give zero shitz about Cyrodiil and are happy to let it die a slow and painful death.

The only reason (imo) that PVPers are still here, is that there isn't a valid alternative MMO on the market (Yet)

Well not really, Crowfall is still in progress but already has a 24/7 server you can play on.
Elsweyr will become important for ESO and PvP community because many people will come back to take a look at the necromancer. But if they won't fix performance and some bigger balancing issues they will leave again and thats close to Crownfall release.
