I don't understand the reasoning to the changes to Redguard. And I don't get how a switch from melee attack to direct damage is a buff? ✭✭✭I don't think they have a preferred class - I think they have a clear vision about how certain specs are designed to play. The method of that design however is incongruent with today's current metagame. It appears that they are making an earnest effort to dial back a bit on it allowing classes to flourish in specific environments utilizing skills unique to them.

Well, Redguards will be getting 1K stamina every 5 seconds. Direct dmg is like 99% of dmg skills in the game. Comparing that to argonian, you will get 9 ticks so something like 9K stamina back over 45 seconds. Argonians on the other hand will get 3.6K stamina so you will run out of stamina faster. Sure, you will also get 3.6K magicka, but we all know that blocking with frost staff is very ineffective.
This means simply that even though argonians have still higher potenial recourses (3.6K stam / mag / health) - although you can see that diference is not big: 10.8K on Argonian vs 9K on a Redguard - you wil still burn those recourses much faster on an argonian.1 -

DK Tank
(melee) StamBlade DD
(ranged) MagSorc DD
Templar Healer
and than rushed in fillers for "full class system", "freedom", "diversity" and than later more fillers to make any class/any role.

I tend to agree that if there was a favored class/build, it would be a magicka-based one. After all, the game was basically designed that way, and it took about 6-9 months for stamina builds to really become viable after launch in 2014. Stamina, although strong now, still feels like an afterthought as many of the builds use the same skills and gear regardless of class, especially in PVE. Magicka is similar in some sense but there is more variety there.
Anyone else remember the old "dress and a stick" meme when light armor chests were only available in robes (no jerkins) and impulse spamming was rampant?2 -
