How much cyrodil grind for the monthly 50 transmute crystals?

Hi All. I have now 3 lvl 50 characters and ive heard people use Cyrodil as a means to grind transmute crystals. How does that work exactly? How much grind are we talking pr charecter and how long does it take?

Some info would be appriciated

You need to reach the first rank of campaign rewards, which requires 25k AP. You can get that much fairly quickly by either joining a zerg group or getting a few friends together and taking resource flags.

Yep just log in .. if u dont want to pvp or do the gear thing. Just get a resto staff a a few heals
Find any group or blinking icon on map ride there and just start healing anyone im combat.
Its dou le ap right now so its super quick qll u need is lvl 1 in campain. You do have to wait till end of campain to get the gold geode with 50 crystals
. You will also get smaller geodes along the way.
They show up in your mail right away.

It's possible to get 25k AP in less than an hour per character (not counting the queue of course) if you play actively, and on an active map. That's part of the downside of joining a mostly empty server with no queue - it's good for doing PvE things, but can be hard to get AP if there's no PvP going on.

Don't be afraid to join a group you see advertising in zone chat (some alliances are better about this then others, so your mileage may vary). A lot of them use the Auto Invite addon if you are playing on PC. Follow them as they attack/defend points on the map, do your best to contribute, and repair doors & walls as you go. The AP from quests count as well.

As you earn Rewards of the Worthy, open one per account per day if your goal is transmute crystals. The first one per day is guaranteed some (almost always 4 crystals each), and each one after that has a small chance of more. If you PvP regularly and earn many RotW it matters less (otherwise they just fill up mail/inventory). For example, you could open 16 straight and only get transmutation crystals on the first one, like I did a couple days ago.

In the end you'll get the 50 crystals per character, in the mail, at the end of a 30 day campaign. If you open one RotW per day, you'll get about (4*30)+(3*50) = 270 transmutation crystals per month.

You need 25k AP. You can get that much by taking 3 keep with their resources. Join a campaign where are lot's of actions and the people playing the map so keep ownership moves around. Earning AP on a stale map is much harder.

Thank you for a thourough anwser. I will have to get into Cyrodil as this seems like a good way to farm these damn crystals. In your experience, when is the best time to play pvp in cyrodil , i mean when do most people play?

So i get double AP right now? So i can basically do this on all 3 chars even faster than normally? Thats pretty awsome, i will have to check it out asap then!

If you really dislike PVP, killing a delve boss there also gives you a boost to your AP for an hour, so you can be done even quicker. I don't know for sure if this stacks with the scroll double AP but I'd guess so!

I did dislike it before ( i really hated it ) but after discovering battlegrounds i really started to enjoy pvp, to the point i actually made a pvp tank im leveling right now. Just want to get good at it and support my team, and get crystals while at it!

So how does this work really, what do i write in chat to join a group?

One thing to know, you only get crystals at the end of your home campaign. So, 50 for a 30 day campaign....not sure how much for a 7 day, but if I recall correctly it's more/day for the 30 day...but ya gotta wait 30 days and it's typically a longer queue.

Yeah but that's 50 for the entire campaign. Celebrate the fact you can spend hardly any time in cyrodiil and score 50 then spend the rest of your time repeating the same pve mechanics over and over till the next campaign.

You only need tier 1 which is 25k ap. That can be earned in less than 20 mins with a group.

Yeah , i mean that is insane. 1 dungeon takes 25 minutes and gives 1 crystal. Im glad i discovered they are obtainable in PVP otherwise i would spent 2 months earning 60 crystals in a daily grind - which i im not even remotely interested in.

Ok got it! Im curious what queue you are talking about. Once im in cyrodil, are there any further queues? Do you mean waiting time before i find a group?

How about dungeons? In theory, you can get 54+ crystals in 3-4 days, just by having 2 characters and earn 18 crystals per day as well as 10-12 keys, gold, DLC motifs and despite subjectively - more fun )

You mean by doing 18 dungoens pr day pr character ? You can only get max 6keys pr day pr acount - i THINK.

It takes me about an hour of just zerging keeps. You need to capture maybe 3 keeps. Most of your time is spent just waiting for a zerg to form.

I do this in PvE gear since I couldn't be *** to spend gold on PvP gear. This means I can't kill anyone (I don't even do any damage to most targets) and I die in 1-2 hits from other players. But as long as you just stay with your group of 100+, you'll be safe.

When you first arrive in Cyrodiil, I've noticed that the chat window is set to /say. Only people in your vicinity will hear your chat
Type /zone and press enter to go to zone chat, a bigger broadcast range. During the current event, there are so many fights on, just type lfg (looking for group) you'll get an invite almost instantly. Try make some friends while this event is on, write the group leaders (crown) names down and perhaps see if they know a regular group you can join in future. The leaders tend to be regular PvPers. Just like dungeons and trials, it's fun to raid with friends. I'm also super chuffed with the flood of transmute crystals. I like experimenting with builds/classes for my Templar but I don't like vet level pugs so transmute crystals only trickle in slowly.

Are you sure about this? I completed all pledges on one char and logged my other and undanted didnt have any more quests for me?

you dont need 100k like people state tier 1 is enough for which you need 25k ap and at the current rate during the event thats basicly flip 8 ressources or 3 keeps or a mix of those. Shouldnt take longer than 30 minutes now during the event if you are efficient.

No he is completely wrong. You can get 6 keys and 6 transmutation stones per character, if you do all the pledges on vet hm. So if you have the 15 character max, and run vet hm on all 3 pledges per character, you could get a guaranteed 45 trans stones a day, possibly more since there is a chance to get more then the base of 2 per shard and the fact that final dungeon bosses have a chance to drop a coffer as well.


A more realistic number is 5, 4 from non-dlc vet hm and 1 from a normal dlc dungeon.

You get daily undanted on each character. 3 geodes with 3 crystals (sometimes 2, but sometimes 4, so usualy is 3) = 9 crystals.

Let's say you have only 2 character, like myself. Each day you will get:
- 10-12 keys (i have 900+). 10 with no HM DLC, 12 with HM DLC
- 6 geodes with 15-18 crystals total

Now you need 3-4 days of daily pledges to get 50 crystals and if you have a very bad luck and each geode has only 2 crystals, then you can fill it with daily random. One week and you have 100, ton of keys, gold, motifs. Profit )


Edit: though im not sure about random daungeon geode after you do it first time. Probably my luck. Also you have a chance to get geode from last boss.

Dont forget that normal trials give 5 crystals.
However the real beauty is that the 50 crystal geodes just take up one inventory slot but can transmute one item so you can get past the low cap on stored crystals.

People who PvP a lot tend to have so many they transmute and deconstruct to rare trait stones they can sell.

You must have had undaunted quests in your journal from a previous day. Just go to journal and “abandon” the older undaunted quests, and you will then be able to pick up the current ones.

Tier 1 is ridiculously easy to get in a 30 day timespan.

In fact, I'd say you'd have to work not to make Tier 1.

For double ap, you will need to complete the Midyear Mayhem quest and receive the scroll of Pelinal's ferocity. The scroll gives the ap boost.

On a character that had never been to Cyrodiil, you can get 20 to 25k ap for the tutorials if you do the mayhem quest first and use the scroll for the tutorials.

Lower level characters earn rftw mails faster. A level 50 character will earn 1 rftw mail in the 25k that it takes to get to scoring rank 1. A level 10 character will earn at least 5 mails for the same ap. That would be an additional 16 crystals at least for the same time invested if you open one coffer per day.

You can earn your rftw mails on a low level alt and then open it with a high level character to get higher level gear from the coffer. CP 160 spell strategist is selling well right now.
