My hybrid dk build for all to see. 4500 wd/sd, up to 3100 mag recovery, 1k stam recovery. Hope this gives you ideas to expand builds for all classes. Wow, that’s actually decent. I want to do something similar for noCP stamsorc, with the idea of using curse for better burst. Any ideas? The sets can be pelinal, prisoner, 2wpn dmg front bar (anything), some monster set (maybe Kena + domi).

Heavy armor, wpn dmg mundus.
Idk about the bars though...

Any help?

Wouldn't it be better to have Cauterize on your back bar and Embers on the front? Cauterize's heal is determined by your stats at the moment it triggers, so it will use your front bar stats if that is the bar you're on when it goes off regardless of the bar its cast from. While Burning Embers damage and subsequent heal is determined at the moment of cast, meaning you're gimping yourself by casting it from the back bar.

@Conduit0 That is for proc sets. If it's not cast while a proc is active, even if the proc activates during the dot, it will not be affected by the damage gained. BUT, your dot damage will fluctuate based on weapons currently equipped, so the dot will be increased when moving to the front bar. Now I have nirn 2h, on my back bar, so it hardly matters. Not only that, but I am pretty sure cauterize will maintain the strength of the heal from total spell damage from initial cast for the 15 seconds.

The real reason we keep cauterize on the front bar, aside from having a spammable heal ready to go, is the CRIT! 9% crit is really really nice. You'd be gimping yourself by not having the 9% crit chance on the front bar.

They changed the way single target dots work, they no longer update with each tick, instead they lock in their damage at the moment they're cast. But you do make a good point about the extra crit.

I did, I double checked on a target dummy and a monster, switching bars did not affect the damage of Burning Embers.

i actually did say in chat "oh you're running the drizz build - he has it on the forums" and he replied "no I've been working on this build the past few days"

he said / she said. but yes - I did point out that this build has been on the forums now for some time and gave you the appropriate credit.

i'm not a good theorycrafter. I copy builds all day. and on my stream i'll share the author and even usually pull up their youtube vid or forum post and watch it / show it on stream. my dressing room addon builds also will usually give the author name.

my own build creations are typically called "poop" by the community. i'm ok with this. thankfully there are plenty of theorycrafters out there that help me overcome my deficiencies .

still haven't put your build into play yet. I keep thinking that a stamdk using this setup and throwing a few whips/embers here and there might be more beneficial than the magdk hybrid. not sure. i'm slow to implement because my 2h is level 10 on my magdk.

I've been thinking about the following on a magdk: have you ever considered anything along these lines:

1. molten armaments - buffs heavy attacks 40%
2. elemental weapon - buffs heavy attacks
3. knight slayer - rewards heavy attacks with an oblivion dmg additional

sets to potentially pair - elegant, doyleimesh, undaunted infiltrator, torugs, sunderflame

basically a magdk (maybe even a stamdk) build that throws fossilize and winds up heavies a good bit using the above.

@mursie I have. And I don’t like the playstyle. I mean that’s what krotha ran was torugs and something for heavy and light attacks, until he switched to one of my builds, so you said.

I’d pair torugs and knightayer, run heavy armor, protective jewelry, high health, high recovery with an infused lightning staff with valkyn skoria. This way your guaranteed to get every single heavy attack off with 5k oblivion damage minimum, on top of the heavy attack damage with good chance for valkyn to proc.

Faded Knights ran something successful with dolymesh, but got tired of it.

Vandstyle runs a stamplar in torugs and knight slayer with prismatic sometimes for vamps and the werewolf scourge. Wrecked my ass with it... I’d rather him have had oblivion on instead.

But IMO I think those set ups are stellar duel set ups and that’s about it... I think they are kind of cheesy too. It doesn’t matter what your stats are, you will hit hard though.

@mursie danza/danzo, was the one who inspired me to do a hybrid build using sunderflame, I wasn’t impressed atm, but appreciate it more now. So there is something there.

Trying out the build Drizz and enjoying it so far. My MagDK was on EP and I like doing my PVP on DC so I started a new toon the day your post went up for the build. Because I was leveling a new character I got to try it with a lot of different skills as I leveled them up.

Like you said in the post the audio was a little off so I cranked up the audio as I watched. I like how you covered alternate skills and the reasons why! Through leveling with the gear I learned a few things. You are melee but you don’t have the Stam pool to sprint a lot so I slotted Crit Rush. That made a world of difference in open world where you felt like you were getting crushed before you got in range with the event going on. In Battlegrounds it is crazy effective ping-ponging to different targets.

Even though you have 4500 weapon damage your physical pen is low you melt with magic attacks but melee attacks are lower so your recommendation of rending slash for bleeds works well.

Once you learn to effectively play off of both resource pools it becomes very addictive. I feel like I always have some type of answer to counter or go offensive. Once I get Rally unlocked I think it will be amazing.

@JackAshes rally is a game changer. What skill are you dropping off your bar for crit rush? And if you do want to do physical damage mix, go medium, pick up sb for dw, run pierce armor drop engulfing flames, use shuffle, work in rev slice, back bar pelinial, use venomous claw, and use asylum 2h. More weapon damage, more mag pen, more phys pen. You’ll just want to change out lich for something else probably. And reallocate some stam points.

As I am leveling my skills I took out engulfing flames for Crit Charge. My front bar is enough to take anyone out so far I am sure that will change when my MMR goes up on this toon and the fights get tougher now I feel like I am a bull in a china shop.

You spoiled me with the resources of Lich and the spell pen of light armor. Really don’t wanna give up Quick Cloak either and have to run race against time. It’s going to be hard for me to remove Steel Tornado off my bar either. When others are running out of gas and I still have 3 spins in my tank to waste groups in my Talons/fossilize it’s gonna be hard to give up in BGs.

The funniest thing about a hybrid though are people’s reations when they think I am a Stam toon and I whip them to death makes for some interesting tells

@JackAshes I’m glad your enjoying it. It’s easier to give up abilities in a group, it’s very flexible as you can see. I’ve been running talons a lot recently. I recommend timing draw essence with leap for big burst. If someone can major fracture for you, I’d keep spin for some matches. And I strongly recommend chains over Crit Rush, I use chains sometimes and the major expedition and it being mag makes it better IMO. Also, remember if you kill someone in your 2h bar you get 30% stam recovery.

Lol I will hopefully get the skill pts to upgrade my 2hd passive for the Stam recovery tonight that will be fun to try out. I have used Chains and it is effective and a good alternative to get 4 sec of speed boost that does not cost Stam. I have 2 sets up in dressing room one with chain and Fossile and one with Crit charge and talons. When I get tbaged I make it a pt to swap to the chain/fossile one get my revenge and laugh. But you know those times in BGs were your approaching a group and there are 2 or 3 about to go down and because you don’t have a gap closer you miss out on multiple kills? I love Crit Rushing in dropping talons and following it up with another talons or steel tornado to get multiple kills. So fun! Draw Essence and Leap you say? Does draw essence explode when you have no one around when you activate it? I seem to remember it doesn’t. That skill is weird how it works sometimes.

I have never watched or copied any build video for a hybrid DK. I've been wearing all those sets for the last 6 months with the exception of pelinals (I used clever alchemist on my Stam DK instead). Death and I figured if I can get over 5k wpn dmg with just seventh legion and master dws then pelinals would be a good fit for hybrid DK.


Our bars are completely different. Our CP is completely different. Our gear sets aren't even worn the same way. I have never ran torug's pact for a light or heavy attack build. Quit name dropping and get that weak clout game outta here.

@Krotha why can't you give credit where credit is due?... and you do run torugs pact... maybe you just don't do it when you stream. I also heard on your stream you said you had been working on the build for a couple of days (that would place your idea in January of this year). I posted something back at the start of november/december with a version of the build and then released another one that is significantly different recently and been showing gameplay of it even longer... I don't care that you have taken the idea and ran with it, but no need to lie... But it's whatever.
