I also have a video of a player I reported yesterday which I cant show at the moment for obvious reasons that clearly shows a player cheating.

As for the poll question, if someone cheats fully aware of what they are doing, they should be permabanned. Everyone knows the basics of the TOS and there are no excuses to such actions.

Clearly you missed the point of what I said.
The bugs that go unfixed people exploit because they know zos won’t fix it. And likely they won’t get caught. So they keep going. Example A. Snipe desync exploit, B. werewolf’s abusing the infused enchantment bug.
Zos refuses to fix these bugs so these players will exploit them with no issues. Even punishing a small player base that does it won’t solve anything, the broken bugs will still be there and be exploited.

They should fix the bugs too.

However, I can't think of any bug that would justify cheating?

When you cheat, you are not merely getting around a bug - you are giving yourself an unfair advantage over other players.

Players who not only have to to deal with those bugs, but they now have to deal with you cheating, too.

I can totally see how the incompleteness of this game would lead you to extensive addon use; but, not to cheats.

    Simply stop cheating does it.

O you thought about other cheaters.
Best is obviously closing loopholes and an detection system.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Good stuff @Waylander07, if they are found to be cheating then they need a perma ban.
Then they can buy another account for $9 and come back again

Maybe, but is there a work around for this, like putting all their items in a guild bank or sending it to an alt account?

The reason I say this is I knew, not personally, a player who was banned multiple times.
When he came back each time he had no problem obtaining items which led me to believe he was somehow retaining his gear and gold.

so black out his name and show us this proof that he is cheating.

im not saying that there are no Cheaters around. but i still dont hink you actually found one.
most of the time people that call cheaters just dont understand whats going on, then create a forum thread and confusing noobs to think that cheating in this game happens all the time, which is not true at all

I would think that unless ZOS gives them advance notice that should not be the case but it would not surprise me.

so you call bunny hopping and using invisibility pots cheating lmao

and then calling a legit player names in zone chat :disappointed:
gg. like i said above. that player is not doing anything wrong in your video at all. and you report him for cheating and then start a ruckus in forums about it. Now every noob that reads your posts without basic knowledge of the game mechanics will be confused and irritated about the game mechanics even more and call everything and everyone a cheater when he doesnt understand whats going on.

Its a god damn domino effect ._.

Bots should get permabanned. They ruin the game economy and crap on people who actually put in real effort to progress in ESO. People who purposefully exploit to ruin other people’s days or be unstoppable need permabanning too. It’s too common for these people to be repeat offenders.

But in all seriousness, why would someone risk all their time, money, and effort put into their account just to be an idiot and cheat?

Banning doesn't work, if they want to cheat they'll just buy another account and keep cheating, trade to other characters or sell items and gold in online marketplaces for selling in-game goods.
There is no way of stopping cheating, I suppose banning will always be the default option because it opens the possibility of another game purchase.

There are many, many people who jump to the exploiting or cheating accusation. The reality is probability says its just witnessing a combination of mechanics and itemization which gives benefit above what the person has experiences before.

That doesnt make either of those people "wrong" or "right", but there is a large population in this game, way more than any I have been involved in who believe whole heartadly that if its provided in the code its not exploiting.

This is the biggest disconnect. One side sees broken systems and combines them to get advantage over players who do not know these systems and the other side refuses to deduce what actually is going on and relegate the "offending" player to a cheater.

Another big issue is players like being better and somehow feel superior to other players when they are clearly using overtuned items or overlapping systems. These players will never be objective towards themselves and rationalize behavior that is a net negative for everyone but them.

The game is pretty broke in a lot of ways and the playerbase lacks trust in the system. Add in some blatant and widespread cheating of a few popular videos and this is where we are.

ZoS can fix by fixing the loopholes and overlaps and bugs, but its highly unlikely that is profitable enough to clear the suitsand counters of beans
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Bans, with possible suspensions instead depending on how big the issue was.

Also the most important part is to remove any gains they made, suspending but leaving the rewards for cheating isn't punishing.

Don't do any stupid PR stuff either, no dunce caps, no GM takes control and kills, just ban them and get them out the game.

How is "other *** is broken too" an excuse to not fix anything?

Zeni could fix the broken queue system, but I guess PVP also lags so there's no point.

To me if a company knows there is an issue with a skill or item in normal play, they need to fix the issue asap not say we know this is wrong so don't use it or we will consider it cheating. They can not expect every player to know this besides they created the problem they need to fix it and not punish.

Now if a player figures out a way to force a issue and repeatedly uses it for gain, then that is cheating. These players should be punished accordingly.

These two points does not begin to cover the range of cheats. Game companies that do not timely fixes causes their own problems and should not blame players in those issues.

Don't you think that all the issues in pvp are because of cheaters ???

Cheaters are spamming the server with so much querries that the server become flooded and start lagging.

You can't take care off all the breaches in the system, but can be severe with cheaters by banning them or by deleting all their toons.

I play PUBG btw and there were many chinese cheater in the servers ruining the game. Blue hole added an anticheat system and Banned all of them. they game never been as good since that.

Def. not the case. The servers have always been bad even when cheaters aren't around in abundance. While this game does have cheaters, there's not enough of them around to impact the servers to the point of what well experience.

    They're just horrible servers.

The problem is that players blame other players for those issues.

But there are certain weapons that you simply couldn´t touch FOR YEARS because of how buggy they are (looking at bows with 2 absolutely bug riddled atrocious skills) if you´d want to 100% avoid using any unintended behavior.
