Oh I remember the Blazing Shield Templar Tanks with 100K Health. Didn't ZOS nerf them to Oblivion? Yep!

You can make a decent Templar Tank but it won't be as good as other classes which have more tools in their toolbox for tanking.

What about making the heal of Living Dark health% based? Balance it against Dark Cloak, which doesn't require to be hit for the heal.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

I think ZOS recognizes that templar tanking needs some help which is why they gave them the new Sacred ground passive.

Sacred Ground: This passive no longer snares enemies in the area. Instead, it increases your Block Mitigation by an additional 10% while standing in one of the mentioned abilities. (From PC patch notes)

Instead of running 2 block cost reductions on jewelry I am thinking about just one and going infused Glyph of Increase Magical Harm to increase my damage and healing for both normal and vet runs in 4 man content.

Because there needs to be differences between classes. Some slight variance that gives each something unique. Templars do make sturdy tanks and if built right a skilled templar tank can also heal the group.

however zos killed the uniqueness of all classes

Its funny bcz even though templars have a few skills that are ripe for changes the community would QQ over any buffs.

A change that i often think about is Healing ritual becoming healing rune. Spend X health to recieve 5x health over 24 seconds and also recieve minor ward and minor resolve. Its not sexy but it fits the templar theme of investing into a stat pool for over time gains. Helps a tank but is not the I win button in any other scenario of eso.

We all can agree that sun shield and its morphs needs a do over. I think most templars feel that radiant aura is not much different than its base morph.
It could easily be changed and not missed.

A few changes here and there and violla a unique templar tank is born. Done soo in a way as to not put templars as god mode everywhere else.

I don't agree about Sun Shield, and rather enjoy Radiant Ward shield on my tank. Radiant Aura morph could use a bit of love though.

Yeah, give the most useless and hated NB skill to templars, because on templars it will somehow magically be good.

Though tbh next to Sun Shield and radiant aura it probably will look good.

Are the RA passives active on both bars? If not, they should be to make it worth slotting.

I agree, Templar tank needs a viable self heal and also a pull with taunt skill or something similar. I would love to roll a Templar tank, but current Templar lacks tank skills set. I notice a lack of tank characters, we do need more tanks in the game. Please.

Lol, buff the most buff class in the game. What a hoot.

Templars normally try to keep a real low profile to avoid dev attention. Op is barve at least.

Must´ve taken a wrong turn, the thread is About PvE templar tanks, not stam necromancers.

On Topic, templar tank really could use something for self heal, would have to be mindful how it would affect PvP tho.

Go tank with a Templar, and tell me how "OP" they are. Literally anything a Templar tank can do, any other class can do better.

An old thread still very relevant, I'd forgot I even posted in it. And everything I said still applies.

This class needs some love in tanking still, self heal among the biggest needs. There are ways to balance that and make players choose between morphs to keep them from being too strong in PvP. This problem should have been fixed long ago.

Templar has been my favorite class since launch. Tanking used to be my favorite role though I've done it a lot less lately, so I may not say that anymore. So it's pretty sad that I've hardly felt like I could use my favorite class in my favorite role for years in the hardest content in the game simply b/c zos doesn't seem to know what feedback to listen to or not (as in we all give all sorts of feedback to them in the forums and you have to know the game really well to know what's good advice and what's not).

There really is no big reason Breath of Life needs the two morphs it has. Obviously there are basic difference, we get that. But they aren't big differences IMO. This would be the perfect skill to make a player choose between the BoL style morph that could heal themselves and/or someone else and scale off magicka and have the other morph be a health based self only heal that would be more useful for tanking. I still try to use it for tanking as it is, but Alkosh help you if you are in a large group like a trial and others need a heal, because there goes all your magicka trying to get a tiny burst heal (scaling off magicka it doesn't hit that great as a tank).

Then, once they at least have the same survivability in the same trial and dungeon HM situations as a DK, Sorc, Warden, Necro tank, we can start looking at some of the other tools they lack.
