ESO vs others MMO RPG

I've played many RPG like WOW, FFXIV, ESO, GW2 and BDO, so i come up with a score to compare them.

The score is based on a notation from 0 to 10 (best) and takes into account many aspects of each mmo which are categorized as follow:
  1. Gameplay
  2. Performance
  3. Graphics
  4. Sound track
  5. Lore
  6. PvP
  7. PvE
  8. Class number and uniqueness
  9. Economic model (Sub vs B2P vs F2P)
  10. Active players

so here each :

WOW
  1. Gameplay = 5
  2. Performance = 7
  3. Graphics = 4
  4. Sound track = 5
  5. Lore = 7
  6. PvP = 6
  7. PvE = 8
  8. Class number and uniqueness = 7
  9. Economic model = 4
  10. Active players = 7

Total Score = 60

FFXIV
  1. Gameplay = 6
  2. Performance = 9
  3. Graphics = 7
  4. Sound track = 7
  5. Lore = 7
  6. PvP = 4
  7. PvE = 9
  8. Class number and uniqueness = 9
  9. Economic model = 4
  10. Active players = 8

Total Score = 70

ESO
  1. Gameplay = 8
  2. Performance = 4
  3. Graphics = 8
  4. Sound track = 8
  5. Lore = 8
  6. PvP = 4 (down from 7 because of lag in cyrodiil)
  7. PvE = 7
  8. Class number and uniqueness = 5
  9. Economic model = 6
  10. Active players = 7

Total Score = 65

GW2
  1. Gameplay = 7
  2. Performance = 5
  3. Graphics = 6
  4. Sound track = 6
  5. Lore = 6
  6. PvP = 6
  7. PvE = 6
  8. Class number and uniqueness = 7
  9. Economic model = 7
  10. Active players = 6

Total Score = 62

BDO
  1. Gameplay = 9
  2. Performance = 4
  3. Graphics = 9
  4. Sound track = 6
  5. Lore = 4
  6. PvP = 7
  7. PvE = 4
  8. Class number and uniqueness = 7
  9. Economic model = 4
  10. Active players = 5

Total Score = 59

Those are my personal scores, other may note it differently.

So for ESO we see that it got what it needs to be the best mmo in the market if performance were not bad and if we had more diversity in classes.

@ZOS_GinaBruno please take a look on this this may help you better focus on the most important improvements on ESO.

Thank you in advance

Score based metrics like this are fine and dandy, but ultimately they are quite based on personal preference.

I mean, I love ESO's lore, but what am I going to compare it to?

Do I give it a 10 compared to Warframe, which doesn't explain its lore until halfway through its Star chart except through cumbersome codex scans? Or do I give it a 6 compared to TES 3 Morrowind's rich and in depth exploration of Dunmer culture?

    Not that it matters.
The metrics ZOS actually cares about are:
How many players are still playing ESO?
How many players are still paying for ESO?

I call into question several aspects of OPs "grading" Besides the order they listed each game does not flow in the logical order of the scores OP gave each, the score in some of the categories is very questionable. The two most glaring categories are Graphics and PvE.

Graphics, FF got a 7 for a game that has graphics more akin to Saturday morning cartoons 20 years ago Details in ESO are so much greater than the games listed yet OP gave ESO an 8 suggesting FF is almost on par with it.

Granted OP may play on a potato and uses low graphics settings but that is a personal issue.

PvE, they gave FF a 9, WoW an 8 and ESO a mere 7. The fight mechanics, especially in dungeons and large group raids the mechanics for FF and WoW are rather boring and simplistic. Even the latest trials in ESO that are not the best in this game are significantly better are more imaginative than anything FF and WoW have to offer.

Granted, OP may lack experience outside of combat we have in regular quests but even there ESO is better than WoW or FF.

Yes, we are all entitled to our opinions and our perspectives also vary based on how well we adjust to a game. However, I am confident that anyone that played and got into ESO before they ever played WoW and FF would consider those games child's play in every aspect from graphics to gameplay to the PvE mechanics they experience. Though I will say FF and WoW have a shorter and less steep learning curve which probably affects gamers views when they come from those games to ESO.

honestly this is very contextual especially ur rankings cuz for example id give better scoring to WoW especially in graphics cuz I played from launch and in comparison...well its very good...but if u compare it with eso then ofc its lower since eso feels more realistic but then again wow has a damn long draw distance while in eso every1 gets myopia from 50+meters
… yes I rly loved in wow that I can go to a new zone and for example Sholazar Basin...I could see literally from 1 side to the other and there was no fog to screw my eyes...same for wildlife it wasn't ofc 100% but still it was farther than in eso...

FF the second best looking MMO is funny. It looks more like a Saturday morning cartoon from 20 years ago and I may be giving it to much credit

I came here after player FFXIV exclusively for 3 years. I think it still has some of the best story telling but its control system stinks. As far as movement control goes I think EOS has the best. For combat controls I would like to see the ability to have everything on one action bar and not have to try to deal with laggy and buggy bar swapping but is still better the point and click style of FFXIV. As to graphics I'm not overly fond of the anime style compared to the more realistic look of ESO. So at this point in time I would have it more of an ESO, FFXIV and WoW for first through third rankings.

My guess, based on the games OP seems to like, is they are challenged adjusting to the more robust and flowing combat in ESO vs what seems more like turn based combat that WoW and FF have due to long GCDs involved and for the most part turret combat designs where we cannot move when using most skills. Combat in those games are much easier and simplistic.

It just makers sense due to the different designs of the games. That is ok as well because we all enjoy what we enjoy but that does not give actual value to the rankings above. I expect OP spends more time in those other games.

Eh, of the listed games, I've played only ESO and WoW. I would class ESO as far ahead of WoW in graphics and story - but lesser in gameplay.

As far as a regimented numerical setup.... well, this is all one person's opinion. Opinions are - a dime a dozen. More or less.

Your ratings don't even factor in the massive amount of content WoW has?

I'm not really the type to focus on more than story and immersion based experience which includes gameplay and such.

TOR wins for its original launch content class stories for me but not immersion wise. ESO had good immersion for a bit not anymore, but their story is beginning to pale.

I've played too many MMO's but usually not for too long.

I don't know. I haven't played WoW since 2013. My daughter, her husband, my sister still play some though not a lot. According to them, there's a lot of people in the major areas, but most of them are.... well, can't repeat what they said. So it's not "optimal" for them.

I think that probably WoW is still ahead in active pop - but whether that active pop is quality..... who knows? Then again, as long as the active pop subs and pays the bills.... that's likely what the suits see as "quality".

    Here is my take:

Gameplay = 9 (ESO is to me the only game that balances classic MMO and action combat right.)
Performance = 2 (It is a complete joke and game breaking bugs are the norm.)
Graphics = 7 (I love the grounded and realistic artstyle, but it sometimes feels stale.)
Sound track = 7 (How many reworks of the Morrowind main theme do we have now?)
Lore = 8 (A universe significantly bigger then the game itself is always great I guess.)
PvP = 5 (It heavily lacks competitive elements for my liking.)
PvE = 8 (General PvE gameplay is great but it could use a bit more variety.)
Class number and uniqueness = 3 (Classes are basically one big undefined sludge)
Economic model = 7 (I like the complexity, it could use some polish though (Searchfunction!!!11))
Active players = 6 (The playerbase is big enough, just too casual for my liking.)
Balancing = 3 ("Asking ZOS for a change is like calling the Deathstar for close airsupport.")
Developer Transparency and Support = 2 (They rework the entire game twice a year without telling us why and a support does basically not exist.)

My information might be outdated as I stopped playing WoW when Mists of Pandaria released. Back then all content in WoW except the newest expansion was pointless because it was outdated and out-leveled. So unless they massively reworked old content, added dynamic scaling, etc. I would argue that ESO has considerably more relevant content.

Not at all. Far from it. Clunky would be waiting 2 seconds to be able to use the next skill. Clunky would be having to stand still to use more skills. The games OP likes the best are clunky and antiquated combat systems. Yes, I know some like it and have difficulty getting this one down well, but that is a skill level issue.
