Atmora DLC/Expansion theory/hopes

I seen/bought the Atmora bear mount/bear cub and we have the nord hero costume which is a Atmora armor, is it possible we will be going to Atmora at some point in the future, the Nords old homelands. A more savage and harsh land than skyrim? Maybe save the nord hero from Coldharbour and he then takes us to Atmora. I like the nords since they so close to Vikings and I would really like to see the nords ancient homeland.

    An atmora motif would be cool. The chances of going to atmore... highly unlikely. I love the idea, dont get me wrong. But i do not think that is in the cards for any elder scrolls game whether it is ESO or TES:6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17...37, you get my point

    well who knows, we can go to diffrent planes of existence like coldharbor, clockwork city and we go to an island that magicly moves?? So what's to say we can't go to atmora too, but I did say if it is possible we be going to atmora at some point in future.

    But yeah ill be glad too if we can only get Atmora motif and more of Skyrim opens up to explore. and the rest of the Tamriel map. It would be cool too if we could go to other lands, Like Atmora or Akavir (homeland of the snake people, I'm not referring to the argonians since they are lizard people) or the redguard ancient homeland. There is so much to explore than just the land of tamriel.

    I would say we wont be going there anytime soon....

    But in the future of the game, maybe. They will want to fill all of tamriel 1st, plus some deadric realms.

    I do think there is a reason why we have chapters rather than them being labeled expansions, maybe new land masses will come in the future....The lore is so rich in this series and many threads that can lead onto more content.

    I would much rather go to Atmora instead of Elsweyr (the next presumed chapter, though I think it'll be the Q1 DLC instead), mainly because they can do some cool things with Atmora, while there is a lot of complex lore about Elsweyr and they'd fail to deliver it properly.

    You know that Atmora is so cold that its basically frozen in time right? There's a reason why there isn't anybody living there now, and that reason is that you most likely cant make any heat. You know those areas in the game where its so cold that your character takes damage and you run slower? That's Atmora, but all the time.

    Atmora is an icy wasteland. Think Antarctica. There would be nothing to do there. There is a reason why the Nords fled from there.

    You know those areas in the game where its so cold that your character takes damage and you run slower? That's Atmora, but all the time.
    ...that's about it.

    Of course, that's not to say it would be -impossible-.
    I mean, think of all the classic tales about secret bases in the antactic wasteland! Think about Icewind Dale over on Toril! Think about Games of Thrones and the trips north of the wall!

    I could totally see an expansion someday dealing with an threat from the frozen wasteland... angry atmoran ghost kings, perhaps? ;)
    And adventurers going to deal with it. But it definitely would be a lot like a certain quest on a certain mountain... dashing from protected caves to light bonfires for a short while, making it from one bonfire to the next until you reach the destination cave before freezing your... uhm... delicate bits off. Maybe also add some magic items that will protect you from the cold... for a while. So you can go questing. Fighting both the various ice monsters, and the environment itself...

    Of course, such an expansion would likely not be a priority anytime soon, not when there are so many more easier to do and more inviting to go to expansions to make...

    Who would the supposed "angry atmoran ghost kings" be angry at if nobody lives there? There's nobody for them to be angry at.
    They would be angry at being left behind, of course! :p
    (Which actually would have an classic equivalent, in several cultures it was a myth that ancestors would "rest uneasy" if they were not properly honored by their descendants, and could become "unquiet spirits" if that happened for too long...)

    "Pre-Return events

    Ysgramor gathered those who wished to leave Atmora due to the violent civil war. They sailed south and eventually the fleet landed at Hsaarik Head at the extreme northern tip of Skyrim's Broken Cape. It was here they built there the legendary city of Saarthal.

    Upon arrival in Tamriel, the Atmorans met and befriended the local Snow Elves. The Nords called the land "Mereth," in recognition of the vast number of Mer that lived there. The elves quickly took notice of the rate at which Man's population was growing, and soon realized that these men were the first great threat to Elvish civilization on Tamriel.

    The Snow Elves led raids throughout the settlements of men that had come to Tamriel. Most of the Atmorans were hunted down and the city of Saarthal was burned to the ground. These events became known as the "Night of Tears." Ysgramor and his two sons, Yngol and Ylgar, survived and fled back to Atmora.

    Return.

    When Ysgramor and his sons returned to their homeland they discovered Atmora had developed into a peaceful land. They told stories of elven treachery and murders in Saarthal. This inspired men of Atmora to raise an army and avenge the fallen, claiming Mereth for themselves.

    Ysgramor gathered an army known as the Five Hundred Companions and set sail from the southernmost city of Jylkurfyk to invade Tamriel, this became known as the Day of Final Passage. When they arrived, they retook Saarthal and hunted Snow Elves and other Mer alike, and made possible the rise of men, eventually establishing the First Empire. These series of events gained the name of "The Return" and have since led to a strong hatred and prejudice between the races of Men and Mer.

    Atmora, also known as Altmora or Elder Wood in Ehlnofex, is a frozen continent located far to the north of Tamriel, across the Sea of Ghosts. It was home to a race of men known as Atmorans around the Merethic Era."

    Perhaps Atmora wasn't always a frozen wasteland, Perhaps there is a mystery to be solved and as you all know a mystery is irresistible to humans that must be solved :) becuase if atmorans was able to live there before, something must have happend that turned the land to a frozan wasteland. perhaps it has come under a dark curse. You know how powerful the dragonpriests were (not saying its the dragonpriests or the dragur cause it since they started in skyrim, but it could be something as powerful)

    if a group of individuals was able to move an island several times through magic (Which is impossible, but hey its fantasy right??), im sure there is a way to use magic or other means to keep us warm in atmora :)

    I would like to see proper expansion not just one zone.
    Something new to do. Nah not jewerly or spellcrafting. It's not like you can spend hours crafting jewerly and say you had a blast...I'm not hyped with any new DLC or "chapter" because it's same old. Few delves, few dungeons, one trial and 5 hours of questing.

    Its a cool idea.

    But thing is, even tough I got into this game just for the TES lore. I have only stayed because of PvP.
    You know, because they have absolutely ruined the lore. And failed to EVER present in a good way.

    Zenimax has basically decided to use the TES lore like a harlot to get rich.

    Part of me wants to revisit other parts of Skyrim and see the cities as they were a thousand years before TESV. Another part however feels it would just be done to cash in on the lingering Skyrim hype. What I wouldn't mind seeing at some point is a chapter or dlc, perhaps even a dungeon dlc, that features Blackreach.

    If it's part of a chapter or DLC for a chunk of Skyrim it could be a trial or a public dungeon. If it's a dungeon dlc, then obviously it would be a dungeon. In any case I would love to see the Falmer, and perhaps see a glimpse of one of the few remaining Snow Elves that are still in hiding and haven't been corrupted like the Falmer.

    Any of that would seem more likely than Atmora. Could maybe have some time warp shenanigans where you see some events that transpired during the build up to the Night of Tears and all that like they do with some other quests, like the one in Alik'r where you see how the Ashaba came to be. Some chapter or dlc that has a quest or a chunk of the main story centering around some past conflict could be reason enough to have an Atmoran motif, or a segment that takes place there.
