I have so many of these catches banked, so the quest just involves me withdrawing one of each and handing them in. Nice and quick and easy.

The most fun was diving into the water, but all the quests soon got old for me after the 10th time of doing each of them....

I picked the locks because that is the fastest one with the least amount of running around involved.

This is absolutely true after like the third time you've run them. I can now only force myself to do one a day for the mystery box after I finally got the ice skin. Not even the lure of fabulous prizes can make me do more than that now. Especially since every single mystery box and new life box I've gotten has been supremely disappointing useless junk. Obviously RNG is set up to lure us and nothing more.

So is -everything- that gets into mindless repetition territory.

Wish they had more varietee... like, if they had made three quests her race, and given you one rancom "racial" celebration per day... could have been more bearable. But i said that before:
    Dr3sden wrote: »
    How could event be improved?
More events, have a choice of three different events per race, and give out a random one each day per character... like, for the dunmer, dance the lava foot stomp in stonefalls, OR do pilgrimages in Deshaan, OR have some celebration in VVardenfell (obviously that one will only pop up if you own the expansion)... or for the Orcs, do the Stonetooth bash on Betnik, or join with some wood orc festival drinking contest in Reman's Bluff, or go join a wrestling competition ijn Orsinium (if you have the DLC)... and so on...

And give out double rewards when you do the one matching your character race. Heck, maybe make it less grindy by giving higher rewards but less quests all across the board...

Including imperial events. Even if you have to go to cyrodil for them. Possibly even have some sort of PvP-truce around those areas (like, make Bruma a no-PvP zone for the festival only - but PvP resumes the moment you step out of the town limits) for the duration of the festival (this has happened in WW1 IIRC, well, for christmas even at least)

I actually had good rng for the writs...I got 12 for myself, 11 for my buddy (he bought his 1st one), and 12 for my son...and had 2 left over...which I gave away to a trials team member...now done with running them this year...thank god...

Just to be slightly pedantic, the "donate gold in Grahtwood" option is technically in correct is it not? Since that part is optional. The actual part that progresses the quest is the killing of the creatures nearby.

The best bit was when I finally got the skin after >100 quests and quit the event.

The undaunted and witch mother's event are integrated into the game - do content that's there already but get different rewards. Or maybe content that's there but you don't do regularly like maelstrom or trials or world bosses/delves. It was really good fun. But the new life festival is just stupid.

Add the fact that you get a 100% xp boost but the event rewards very minimal xp. I think that sums the event up in a nutshell.

You only have to pick one, but you gotta do both at least once for the achievement. After I got mine, I just pay off the orphans and port back. Thank goodness at least one of my guildies can be found in Eastmarch all the time. This one technically has the longest run without a waystation for convenience so I'm always glad to get it done asap. I can afford 69 gold

Lorewise, it's the Snow Bear Plunge, because ... I don't know, it's a thing I can imagine Nords to do in this season. Nicely done.

Funwise, it's the Mud Balls. This wasn't the case last year, but this year it's - depending on the time of day - pure mayhem happening around the Skywatch wayshrine - I like that and it's not too long overall.

But this is all theory. As people said before, when you do a quest for the umpteenth time, it's just a matter of how quick you can do it, especially if you already did that ad infinitum last year. So here's not my favourite, but my least detested: Grathwood. Properly set up, you can finish that in about a minute. Perfect. Closely followed by Rawl'Kha for the same reason.

I think this should have been asked the other way round. Lava Foot is absolutely terrible (loading Davons Watch .... loading Ebonheart .... loading Eastmarch, with lots of walking around and waiting for this ... animation to finish), so is Shadowfen (because seriously, I catch about two dozen fish of one kind before RNG decides to get me the last one) and Betnikh (good luck finding wasps at prime time).

I like the chests, followed by mudballs and sprinting, because they're the most like an actual mini-game. Extremely basic mini games, but still something to actually do.

The rest are fun to watch (except fishing, which I've always found boring in this game) but all you're actually doing it getting to the right location, pressing E and waiting for the animation to finish.

I don't know...maybe I'm making the mistake of expecting this game to work like others I've played in the past, but to me in-game festivals were always about unique activities - minis-games and quests themed on the festival. Whereas in ESO it's mostly extra rewards tacked onto the same stuff we do all year round, and then a few extremely basic activities for New Life. The first year I thought it was because ZOS were new to it and didn't want to rush too much out at once, but I was really hoping they'd add to the festivals over time.

Edit: And with so many people picking the thing they can finish the fastest maybe I'm in the minority by actually wanting more to do. (Or maybe if it was more involved than waiting for an animation to end players wouldn't be so inclined to see it as something to get over with as quickly as possible.)
