Dude, are you part of ZOS marketing with all these question threads, or just trying to bump your forum points?
Event is standard MMO xmas stuff as far as I'm concerned.
I do like cannonballing into the water...don't know why, just do.

This being the second or third time I’ve done it I’ve not found it that engaging. I just wanted my writs for achievement and then won’t do anymore other than 1 per day for ticket/mystery box.
The quests for a first timer i imagine are ok, not too long, rewards are good if you don’t have the mementoes or motif. I still use mud ball pouch today.
It’s difficult to balance but I’d rather not repeat the same exact format every year but also like the fact newer players get the original achievements.
The major plus is it’s not dependent on group finder so you can actually do it when you want!

I'm not having fun. It's a chore. It's teleport from the quest giver, run a bit, do something that takes a few seconds and then run back, teleport to the quest giver.. it's just 90% of the time running from place to place and spending time on a loading screen!
The event is the exact same thing as it's always been, with the exception of a reward that wont be available after the event ends.
It could be improved by having Proper quests.
Have a quest chain, something that makes me want to engage in the quest, instead of being engaged in "what's the fastest possible way to run from point A to point B?". There is absolutely no challenge, thus making the reward making it feel "meh.."
I've been lurking a bit on this forum, so thought id start with this.
Thoragaal has it right with the quest chain.
The whole thing is 9 dailies you need to do for a random RNG drop of Writs for the skin then you need to find mats Heartwood / Regulus etc which is farming as no-one sells them they sell out instantly, or the RNG motifs for the seasonal armor and RNG for the mementos.
I used to play Guildwars 1 and 2 and that game is far superior when it comes to how they handle content and storytelling.
They decorate their cities for events and have themed minigames Mag King Thom for Halloween, Wintersday emote play with their version of Santa, even going as far as turning all characters into stick figures on April 1, rather than just adding a npc somewhere with a rotation of dailies.
As for the quest chain they do this by having a bunch of quests that take you all round the world as a seasonal storyline which takes a while to do, each week the next part opens up as it would be a 4 part chain one segment per week, but with the previous parts accessible to those that missed out.
For example mby the Char or a bunch of bandits want to run Wintersday, so you would do the storyline to save Wintersday.
Mby in here the Daedra masters plan to disrupt New Life and there could be a storyline about that.
And next year would be a different storyline etc etc to keep things fresh.
At the end of the month doing the storyline chain would grant you the seasonal reward the title "Savour of Wintersday" New Life here, the skin in this case or a mount or something along with holiday fun items which were added around the world as a random drop, candy canes etc that give you temporary bonuses and fun effects.
In both games the boxes stacked and could be awarded all over the place especially the festival emote events, if you messed up you got coal, so I remember collecting 100+ present boxes and opening them for all the goodies.
This is how there living world system works which is ongoing story content in the game, a ongoing story with the existing world where if they want to add a new area or something they do it through it this story but usually it takes place in the existing world.
This way it's part of the end game and ongoing content rather than just grinding and rotation of dailies etc which they also have it also keeps players playing than playing the content and not logging in until the next major content / dlc update.
I miss those seasonal storyline events in this game even though I just started a few weeks back.
They also do snowball fights similar as our mudball fights but your whole skillbar changes to the preset snowball skills.
As for that game and ZOS that is also a buy once and play without any extra fees game, they do also have a cash gem shop called the Black Lion Trading Company, however they can do living world and ongoing stories and decorate their towns just fine so it's not that ZOS doesn't have the funds or that it's not a ongoing sub etc, so they can't do it as that game is also pay once and has a far less focus on their store and can.
If you had enough gold you can convert to gems in that game via a buy sell currency system which varies price based on demand.

You said you are new, so let me ask, how much do you know about TES Lore?
The festivals in ESO are based off of the 56 holidays that are found in TES lore, which is over 20 years of lore, not "real world" holidays.
Example:
New Life Festival - 25th Evening Star
The New Life festival comes a few days early in Wayrest with Saturalia, traditionally held on the 25th of Evening Star. Originally a holiday for a long forgotten god of debauchery, it has become a time of gift giving, parties, and parading. Visitors are encouraged to participate.
For information on how this festival was percieved in 2nd Era Tamriel, see From Old Life to New.

As far as Zo$ doesn't have the funds, well they had a SuperBowl ad for Morrowind release at a cost of 4 mill $ per 30 sec's, and they also did a "Million Dollar Giveaway" 3 years ago, and Zenimax Media, the parent company has a net worth of 2.5 billion dollars as of 2016. So no, they aren't broke.
As far as the event, I'm so burnt out on the grind I can't even express it. Events were never back to back like the last 4, with only a few days between some. The feathers, tickets, broke mechanics, and the whole new direction of grind, grind, and new content coming, grind, that we have seen since just after Morrowind and especially since Summerset is just burn out waiting to happen.
(Lol... I still have 75+ of each of the 3 fish for the Shadowfen Fishing Quest, that tell ya how many times I've done this before?)
My advise to ZoS is in my spoiler.....
Just my 2 drakes.... Huzzah!
More events, have a choice of three different events per race, and give out a random one each day per character... like, for the dunmer, dance the lava foot stomp in stonefalls, OR do pilgrimages in Deshaan, OR have some celebration in VVardenfell (obviously that one will only pop up if you own the expansion)... or for the Orcs, do the Stonetooth bash on Betnik, or join with some wood orc festival drinking contest in Reman's Bluff, or go join a wrestling competition ijn Orsinium (if you have the DLC)... and so on...How could event be improved?

Not really... just rushing through all 9 quests as fast as possible, skipping all dialogue. Are you having fun?
Nope, it is boring and repetitive. I have already done all those quests the past.Do you feel in the spirit?
Nope. I feel like I am wasting my time just to get skin I don't even know if I will use.Do you like rewards?
When RNG is kind to me and I get a "New Life Festival Writ".What is your favorite part about event?
Either don't add cheap RNG based achievements with rewards like that (skin) or give us ability to buy rare event items at NPC vendor for event tickets. How could event be improved?
