Nice! Yea I never go to really anything except this forum, pvp combat skills and occasional PTS. This post was shown to me by a friend, figured like I would forward it like it’s hot, forward it like it’s hot... old school.
I tried it the past 2 days and noticed no difference.
I believe this change is mainly for people with old to average hardwares.
It probably has nothing to do with server lag or network traffic, but rather a bug that causes client issues which is more apparent on hardware that frequently hits cpu bottlenecks like consoles and older pc processors.
Fingers crossed, but I wouldn't expect this to imact the main problem in cyrodiill which is server processing lag and bottlenecks.
We don't have enough information about ESO's server-side architecture to say for certain, but I would say it's unlikely the hardware processing our combat in Cyrodiil is the same hardware processing social functions. If it’s constantly checking the location of other guildmates, doesn’t that mean it would have to send a request to the server which would the have to check and send the info back? So it would be some server traffic, and multiple that by say a few hundred people at a time if you’re in multiple big guilds and then multiply that by how many people are playing and you create quite a lot of back and forth I’d assume. But I know nothing about this stuff.
