Divines lover vs warrior

I’m trying to figure out if 7 divines with lover is better than 7 divines warrior with major brutality, flawless dawnbreaker, and medium armor passives.

Thats 40% extra weapon damage on top 363 (believe its 508 buffed) from warrior vs just the flat 4196

Whichever one helps you hit the penetration target without going over.

For me this would be lover but i would imagine at some point, enough weapon damage would outweigh penetration

Depends. Lover is the preferred stone for Stam DPS (which is what it sounds like you are). But that is partially because the preferred sets do not have penetration buffs. If you are running Spriggans or TFS (which do have buffs) with the Lover, you might go over the cap if you are running PVE group content, especially trials, as there are group penetration buffs active. In that case, Warrior or Thief might be more appropriate

This question can get pretty complicated. It would simplify things if you can list your weapon damage, max stamina, % of damage from procs (enchants, Relequen, Monster set, etc.) and your current physical pen without Lover. All stats should be in the combat buffed state (Brutality, Warhorn, food, etc.). Then we could do a comparison of the two Mundus stones.

It does depend on what you’re wearing and doing. Most end-game pvers use the Lover due to the lack of a penetration bonus that magicka dps have. But they’re also wearing things that buff their crit and damage, not penetration. ZOS changed a couple sets that buffed penetration awhile ago. If you feel you have enough penetration through CP or sets like Spriggans, Twice Fanged Serpent, or Nightmother’s Gaze(if you’re solo), feel free to use the Warrior.

Isn’t it the other way around? I believe stamina builds at least are running Lover mundus in PvE these days, and in PvP weapon damage tends to be better because it gives you better heals. Lover is technically more damage in PvP.

@Vapirko this is just my opinion, as others have stated above penetration can be gained in pve from sets and buffs.
In pvp with the heavy armor meta I go for max penetration to make my burst more effective

As a Stamina Dragonknight who uses flame sets like Red Mountain and Sunderflame, Lover mundus stone works better because spell penetration stacks on these sets, but spell power doesn't.

Lover is almost always better, it's harder for stam setups to reach the penetration cap nowadays with the change of some sets that used to have unique penetration group buffs.

Can you reach penetration cap without Lover? Anything else is better.
You can't? Lover or go home.

This is not about opinions, it's about facts. Lover is better for DPS in PvE than Warrior if you are 4k+ below the penetration cap

I run The Warrior on my Stam DK who is using Relequin/Berserking Warrior/Selene's. Works pretty well for me.
