Only gold jewelry if your build is working well but still needs just a tiny bit more boost, and you're fine with the chance it will get nerfed or outdated.

The order I follow is
Gold Weapons and Gold glyphs on everything
As many passives as you can, like mettle and the armor ones if following the 5 1 1 setup, for example, 5 Light, 1 medium and 1 heavy (only some work for only wearing one piece.)
Transmutate pieces, get it done asap.
Gold Armor is next
Jewelry is fine purple, go gold if you have the money, or running leaderboards.

Thats just what I do.

Almost none. Set bonuses are averaged across all equipped pieces. Upgrading one piece of a set from purple to gold will increase your Spell Damage by 1. Max magicka goes up by ~8.

So, yeah, not much at all.

That's quite subjective. People used to say that gold armor is not worth back in time (i think some still say that), but for endgame better is better. I mean why would you have %9 bonus damage to targets below %25 when u can have %10?

Difference being small is good, because it means you can do stuff with purple. But if you have 10m+ golds lying in the bank i don't see any reasons to not go for legendary.

Before Jewelry Crafting was introduced, Legendary Jewels where a very rare commodity that only elite players could get.

If Jewelry Crafting would have made it easy to make Legendary Jewelry then everyone would be able to get gold stuff and it would have lost it's "special" or actually "rewarding" feeling.

Unless I'm very mistaken or this is changed, non crafted sets will upgrade enchant then you upgrade gear so if you get an blue set from an normal dungeon and upgrade it the item the enchant will follow, know this was true for dungeon set but not for crafted who need gold enchants. Not sure about overland sets.

And also its an insane wealth difference between players, probably worse than real life inside an country.

Some can not afford to gold weapons, other treat VO as an overland set for an tank to do delves and public dungeons.
Make some sort of magic build an stuff in into SPC with an healing staff
Its nothing wrong with being an fat cat outside then people rush an dungeon and this one can not follow

yes as in why not as long as its not in risk of getting nerfed sets, spell strategist, would not gold jewelry unless fat cat.
Ebon on the other hand will not get nerfed and it benefit entire group so donate to tank now.
Tank put it up for sale in guild store
