I just started the zone and I am finding it very exciting. I think the argonian characters are great. Story so far is good in the side quests. I like seeing the nagas. I think the zone itself is beautiful and fun. I love all the strange and dangerous plants.

I’ve done all the content on Murkmire and overall I found it a decent DLC. It’s not my favourite and, having got the achievements, I really don’t feel the need to go back.

    I liked

    - the main quest
    - Both World Bosses which were well done, are suitably challenging, have good, clear mechanics and work well both with small groups and larger ones
    - Both delves look fantastic and are distinctive
    - Blackrose Prison
    - That one part of the zone could only be accessed after doing a certain amount of the questline.

    Didn’t like

    - the overall aesthetic, it’s a bit crappy marshland
    - Lack of general imagination
    - Argonian culture is very dull
    - Main storyline was very glitchy. I stopped my second run through because one quest bugged out and didn’t seem to get fixed

Murkmire is an amazing zone. It is probably the most immersive zone in ESO up to this point. It has a unique feeling that no other zones were able to achieve. I think it is similar case with TES III Morrowind. People were praising that game for a unique, alien-looking world with huge mushrooms and stuff that we never seen before. It is similar with Murkmire. It is strange, alien looking zone, like nothing we have seen before in ESO.

Zone is very well planned out, and the quests there... and lore... I mean it was so incredible. I am kinda sad that I have already done 100% of content there...

The only cons I can think of is the "Murkmire prologue" quest grind and that small island (Norg-Tzel) that we can not re-visit. Also ZOS kinda missed an opportunity with the "Root-Whisper Village". They should have made it just like Dragonguard Sanctum that you can upgrade & restore to former glory.

The lush swamps and flute work make it one of the more memorable zones. The main story line was a little dull. But the zone itself is beautifully done.

God I had almost forgotten the utter ballache of the pre-Murkmire questgrind. 150 steppenfetchits .... and the Mammoth Hunt. Hopefully ZOS learnt their lesson there. I imagine the completion rate was negligible. I still wince when I go anywhere near the Mammoth grounds even now.

I agree it’s a shame you can’t go back to Norg-Tzel. Often the prologue zones, which are developed to launch at the big game shows, are better thought out and developed than much of the final products - witness the far better design of the Elsweyr prologue compared to Elsweyr and the far more ambitious use of the grappling hook in the Dragonguard prologue compared to its sole use in the actual DLC.

I think it is clear they did learn from the experience of the Root-Whisper village and built on it when developing the Dragonguard headquarters. I like the progressive unlocking of stuff through quest completion, it’s very ‘gamey’ and encourages people to finish the content.

Neither like nor dislike, its so......... meh.

Catching this thread I've only just realised I hadn't even finished the story part of the zone which I find shocking as normally I'm all over that kind of thing. Admittedly its argonian which I've never really been able to engage with but even so.

Story-wise, lore-wise and in terms of aesthetics - yes.

Regarding content though...BRP is one big load of ***.

Lore-wise, absolutely! I was really glad to see Argonian culture getting some love.

Story-wise, it was predictable and a bit forgettable. I remember the frog quest and that there was some shadowscale stuff and betrayal and that's about it.

Visually, I'm not much into swamps or argonian architecture so i gotta say meh. I did love the jellies though (I think I'm one of the few out there who like Netches and their counterparts).

The changes that came with murkmire were awful overall, so that's a big nope.

In general I would say I'm more neutral on it, so I can't say I actually like it. I would not have spent money on it if it wouldn't have been free.

At first it was nice but it reached a point where everything, especially the landscape, became extremely boring to me. I had to force myself to finish all side-quests.

I liked the main story however, even if I've already forgotten 95% of it.

Apart from forever being associated with "Nerfmire" and subsequent endless stream of ridiculous combat changes targeted at a handful of over-hyped YouTube parsers, the zone is completely forgettable. I ran the main quest a few times on different characters for the skill points, but overall it has no appeal to me whatsoever.

it was enjoyable and quite decent and felt thematic...but then again I care only for khajiit :3 so im assuming a black march should be even more swamp and stuff that wants you dead but the quests feel pretty hallow for some reason like ur doing some chore for a husk...and this is almost for every place and sadly only a handful of quests are actually making you feel something :V

Got it for free so I can't complain too much about Murkmire. It was definitely the less ambitious dlc to date but it did give some interesting insight into the Saxhleel culture and their connection with the Hist and Sithis. Sure, it's all a bit weird and out there, but Argonians always were pretty strange from the view of other cultures. Compared to more recent dlc, Murkmire was slightly more interesting to explore, probably due to the hazards and unique things you could find.
