Do You Like Murkmire?

To the question: Yes, I really like it!

    Bit off-topic:
I would really love to see the "tamed flame" plant mechanic introduced into more of Tamriel.

They could be placed around in delves, dungeons and in already established locales up in otherwise inaccessible existing places and create an entire new series of "dailies" that we can do and would be an awesome way to "re-discover" places we may have not been to in some time, while also getting to see these areas in "new" ways and perspectives.

They could just use existing cavern features or just add little ledges/spaces/cropings here and there and with some creative plant placement, and a space at the "end" for the hidden scroll/chest. etc. could make a really fun new world mini-game within Tamriel.

It’s gorgeous. Aesthetically beautiful & very well done.

Prefer it massively to cwc which I dislike immensely. Or even bits of Vvardenfell.

There is quite a bit to do - maybe don’t charge through everything & then complain there’s nothing to do!

The zone is ok, I guess. Havent really been there.
On the other hand, the patch as a whole is bloody aweful. Worst impact I've seen on both base game performance and it's affects on the PvP side of things, Cyrodiil especially. Granted I've played for under a year so I guess other patches could have been worse. PvP is all bow, slow and CC spam, everything that makes playing, an aweful experience.

Hmm. I thaught it pretty self explanatory. Murkmire is zone. The updates that came with it, well that’s applied to the whole base game.

I felt like Murkmire was Shadowfen expanded. Much like Summerset feels very close to Auridon imo. I can’t really get into the swampy feel of it. Don’t want to spend any time here. The new four person trial here feels very small, confined and dirty.

    I don’t like it.

The changes Nerfs, Buffs and bugs introduced could happen with any maintenance, update or patch. Don’t feel like they’re inexorably tied to Murkmire.

Aside from some gameplay issues that I have with the rest of the game (trespassing, the long trudge through the endless second-to-last quest in the main quest line), Murkmire's story is one of my favorites in the game. And my favorite DLC story by a huge margin. The zone is beautiful, and the music is to die for. I'm looking forward to repeating this on each toon, unlike Orsinium, which I'm dreading.

I’ll go with No... but I’ve only gone to the Zone once...n it was a okay looking swamp...
But as Aliyavana stated the changes made in association with Murk release are doo doo

As a storytelling DLC the Murkmire DLC is as good as all others. The dungeons are good but as contested solo versions way to easy. Just as all other dungeons are since One Tamriel. But thats not the fault of this DLC.

Quest zones are bottom tier content for me. I did kinda like Clockwork City, but outside of that I have no interest in wasting precious playtime running from point A to B and clicking through NPC dialogue. Why people like this stuff is beyond me - if you want to watch a movie just go watch a movie lol.

Blackrose Prison seems okay, but even that is too much of a grindy slog. The arena format with waves of mobs is getting super old for me.

You should have an "other" option. I haven't gotten into the quest line of Murkmire yet (then again, I haven't even gotten into the quest line in Morrowind.) So, I can't really yes or no, but I definitely do not like the environment or sceneries. It's more crappy than Shadowfen.

Ran through the main quest and never read one thing the NPC where saying. Murkmire is full of dirt people so who cares.

I can say I am interested in the changes the DLC brought to PVP. I have spent no more than 2 hours in Murkmire. There is no reason to go there other than getting the quick achievement with the main story quest.

I didnt liked shadowfenn, i dont like murkmire. i dont know why but almost all the time i am playing there its dark, no sunshine at all, sticks and stones make travelling aweful, dont know why but i get stuck a lot. Mob groups everywhere....
Story was good but the zone itself isnt for me. What bothers me quite a bit is that not all motifs are released, guess its zos way to make us do the daylies much longer. And it seems that, at least on the ps4 eu server, lots of ppl dont do much in murkmire.

Completely indifferent. I only set foot in it, once, for 5 minutes. Oh, the arena? Started that on normal, once. Boring af. Or were you thinking about the combat changes? I liked Glyphgate for it carried me through vMA - an arena I like much better - and I can complete that without a double DW Infused Torug's build, now, having ironed out the final fight. So, you see, "Murkmire" can mean three different things, overland, arena, and combat changes. Which were you thinking about?

Right from the start this DLC set alarm bells ringing with the horrific, grindy & dull prequel quest... 150 dailies to get the achievment!!!

I found the zone itself dull looking, bare, and lacked any depth at all. Just the odd item dropped on a swamp... not a cohesive zone at all.. It felt like a bodged effort to use assets that were created prior to launch but then adapted from the original group/adventure zone it was slated as into a standard solo template.

I hated the balance changes that came with it.

The bugs & performance issues introduced with the DLC were the worst in the games history.

Even ignoring the fact that I have the heart of a Dunmer, I wish this DLC never happened...

And thats a shame as I have always found at least some stuff to love in everything released so far until this point.

I've enjoyed other DLC's much more such as clockwork, etc. Aside from the cool music I'd have to say no. Quests were not that enjoyable and BRP was underwhelming IMO. Still, this is just my opinion and I'm glad others are enjoying the ancient argonian lands, but its not for me. I cant wait to see what ZOS will bring in next though!

Yes, I like the Murkmire very much.
Main questline is quite predictable, yet very beautiful (both visually and written) and atmospheric (something Bethesda is very good at). Besides, real fans of TES series got good chunk of a saxhleel lore, which is probably most valuable thing for us nerds.
BRP is fun, world bosses are fun, side quests and achievements are also interesting.
Murkmire zone is small yet very well made - again, amazing atmosphere that makes you feel the culture of lizard-men.
Even the teachnical part of the DLC (class nerfs and all that jazz) is ok, I do not share the common view of Murkmire being horrible game-ending affliction.

Swamps have always depressed me. The thought of the warm stink coming out of all that bacteria-ridden soddenness, I don't understand how anyone could stomach that environment.

It's even ruined some movies for me, like The Waterboy and The Jerk. Any association with a place that humid and smelly, and my fight or flight hormones fire me off in the opposite direction as quickly as possible.

CWC stinks too, in its own way. Tech + medieval fantasy = immersion killer. Might as well be playing Wild Wild West, with the Will Smith song in your earbuds as you craft a leather jerkin. Ugh.

Just stick to the original environments. They're perfect.

I like it but the quest lines are too short and there aren't enough. With Lilmoth's centralized crafting area I think they should have added crafting writs to make the place more than a quick stop on my daily quest completion rotation.

Exploring it with an Argonian Character, was pleased to find that my race was commented upon along the way. Like that sort of detail.

Ran into a glitch in Empty Nest quest missing contact but the arrow for him is still there.
I have bypassed progressing this quest for now and will check it out when time permits.
[Sorted - wait at the previous location and your contact turns up there first.]

All in all I am enjoying it and will be back for more...

PS You get to Root Whisper village by completing the main quest.

My husband and I just finished it and we really enjoyed it. Reminded me of Jumaji. It was the first DLC that I hated to see end. Good job ZoS. We loved it.

The only thing I was disappointed in was that we did not see Eoki. It would have been fun to see a story-line around him.

I didn't liked the zone... to me, it looks like a copypasta of Shadowfen with some new flora tucked in it, and some new annoying critters that look like reskinned stuff from other zones.

Then you didn't look close enough (not that you have to as the differences are massive).

The texture detail and asset density is so much higher in Murkmire.

What is the difference between Murmire and Shadowfen?
