Research during Respec?

I can't remember how this works, but what happens to your current trait research when you respec and lose all the passives that reduce research time and allow multiple traits to be researched at once?

Do I lose my research if I respec and then choose the passives again?

You don’t lose your research, no.

The timer reverts to the longer research timeline temporarily ... until you plug the passive skill points back in.

The passives adjust the "base" time that it takes to finish the research, so it would reduce those. When you respec it goes back to the full timer, so when you put the points back in, it is then reduced again. (Interestingly, this works with ESO+ as well, so when I activated it on my alt account for the free week here, my timers were reduced and many of my characters finished up research that they had a day or two left on, they were on the 8th trait)

Research remains, you only lose the time bonus, even if you're researching more than you subsequently are allowed to.

Once you get down to a handful of days remaining, you can safely remove the passive points.
