Would a flash mob crash the server?

When you port to a friend, you are moved to their "shard".

If we set up a flash mob in vivec where everyone ports to a friend who had previously ported to a friend in vivec, then everyone should be in the same shard. Theoretically, the server could be brought to it's knees if it attempts to keep everyone in the same shard.

I'm curious what would happen. Any guesses?

You can't port to friends in Cyrodill, probably for that reason.

It will put excess people in a different instance.

Client crashes. Just like when battles for the last emp keep get all three factions hard stacked.

So that would mean that either you can't port to your friend, or people will start randomly disappearing as they "shift" to another instance.

you're probably likely more to crash the client than the server

Doesn't work in Cyrodiil, but you can do it in the open world, and if you're spamming abilities it will crash player's clients. Including, potentially, yours.

come to cyrodil(EU-pc), prime time, look where IT is happening atm, and experience a helpless Armageddon of the server.
