Outfit slots are not account wide?

So, I bought some outfit slots and my other toons didn't get any additional outfit slots.

Is this a bug, or does ZOS seriously expect us to do purchase these slots on all toons?

Fortunately I got them on my main, but damn I'd be pissed if I bought them on an alt.

Nope, dont ever do that. The system is a complete ripoff.

iirc it does not indicate or infer they are account wide when we purchase them. Glad you did not buy them on an alt.

The big thing is they are automatically unlocked on the character you are on when you purchase them. They cannot be moved to another character, though Zos may be willing to help with that if asked via a ticket and explaining that it was thought otherwise. Zos has helped with crown purchases made before.

Nah, think I'm gunna stay away from the crown store for a while. The only reason I bought them was because I had a bit of gold spare, a mate had a few crowns and needed gold so I looked for something I may need off the store, I saw the outfit slots, which I didn't reallllly need, but figured it'd be a permanent upgrade to my account, and they were on special. I one day, may use them.

A character slot is 1,500 crowns. An outfit slot is 1,500 crowns (on special at 750). The logic would suggest it acts like a character slot (account wide) for that price.

I'm just hoping this is a bug and they'll fix it, account wide. Either that or, i've just been burned by ZOS. Lesson learned.

Also, nowhere does it infer it is not account wide. It reads very much like the Character slot description, as well as has the same price.

Yeah, this stinks, I think I'm going to have to open a ticket to get the crowns back.

I'm trying to log into account support, but it keeps saying log in failed.

It provides an access code to my email due an IP change since last log in. I have tried copy / pasting the code, typing it out manually, with the space bar, without the space bar. I can't make a ticket.

Also cannot make a ticket in game either. It wants me to 'find an item' from the crown store. There is no item.

Yeah I noticed that, I couldnt even click the log in button, so I disabled the built in ad blocker and the button became clickable. On the access code screen Brave was masking the 'access code' bar. So I suspect the ZOS support system just saw '********', rather than the letters and digits they represented.

    All good, ticket sent.

That's actually the most sound reasoning I've read on the matter.
And I agree, they're totally not worth it for that price. :/

    'Outfit Slot Upgrade'
'This unlocks 1 additional outfit. Outfits can be modified at any Outfit Station'

    'Additional Character slot'
'This unlocks 1 additional character slot in character creation'

The two descriptions, Outfit (station) and Character (creation) are pretty much interchangeable. Same price.

I guess the only thing I should have picked up on is Additional Character slot is under a tab called 'Upgrades > Account'.

Outfit slot in the crown store needs to be clearly labeled as, character bound, not account bound. Just like Riding Skill Books are very clear that it is NOT account related, even though THEY are under the 'Upgrades' tab.

I've submitted a ticket, and got a quick response, they seem pretty cool about it so far the guy has moved it on to another department.

I just hope if they issue a refund they don't send the crowns back to the guildie I got it from because I cannot recall who it was. It is a trading guild. That would be a double burn.

Edit: Or if they have plans to make these upgrades account wide, I'm happy to keep them. At 1,500 (I got for 50% off) they are a joke to be character bound.

Unfortunately, they are character bound. There's a HUGE thread about it in the Crown Store section (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/394951/1500-crowns-per-outfit-slot-1-slot-just-under-1200-for-every-slot#latest) but ZoS has never acknowledged all the negative feedback or blatant ambiguity of the wording in the item description.

It's not a bug, and it was never intended to make them account wide... that's why I entirely refuse to use the outfit system. The main thread about it is linked above my comment, it's long (32 pages). I doubt they will change anything about it.

They're definitely a rip-off and based on the ambiguous description language I'd even say they venture into "scam" territory.

I never for a moment put these to together. After reading this here I still do not put this together. Especially since a character slot is not something accessible by all characters to begin with.

Yeah, thats why I put in a ticket.

I don't think it was intentional, but they had the option of wording it like a Riding Skill, but chose to word it like a character slot. I'll put it up to a mistake on their end, and not deceit. It really depends on whether I get my crowns back or not as to what they intended.

Huh. Seems like an odd reason to not use the system at all, considering you can make an outfit for a few gold. No crowns needed.

Yeah, if you wanted to make a bunch of outfits to change between, it's a terrible system. But for one, it works just fine.

(and yeah, 1500 crowns feels like a high price for an account-wide slot. For a single character, it's utterly insane. Even the 750 sale price is terrible for a single character.)

They won’t fix what they don’t believe is broken, sad as it is. Crown store in general is a rip off, save the DLC packs which are reasonably priced. Apparently charging more than a dollar or two for cosmetics is culturally normalized. Very sad indeed.

If they were account bound, I would eventually aim to buy all 10. Even if I don't use them all.

I'm sure many others would actually be purchasing them if they were a permanent upgrade to their account.

    Yes.

I actually spend the gold to occasionally swap outfits back and forth. This entails keeping spreadsheets on each outfit design. It's a pain in the arse, it's time-consuming, it's expensive in game currency... but it's better than spending 15 bucks cash per character per outfit.

If additional outfit tokens were account-wide, I would have already purchased 2 to 3.

A couple patches ago an addon could save outfit templates to apply them later, but ZOS killed that option.

Killing the add-on just makes the whole pricing even more questionable since they're clearly aware this is an issue.

Yes here, 1500 crowns is 19 bucks so if I unlocked 5 slots on 15 characters that would be $1400 bucks. Sorry but looking good isn't that important to me. I would defo see more value if it was account wide as well.

Given I purchased it with gold and not crowns, support reviewed the trade and issued me the gold back. Which is more than fair, it wouldn't be right to have it returned in a currency I did not use. I am happy with how support handled the situation.

I have not looked at outfit slots since, I hope the description is clearer re account / character association.
