PC NA vs PC EU

So after playing (and paying for) PC NA since launch and becoming more and more dissatisfied with the direction of the game, the performance, the lack of communication and feedback, 23 1200+ cp toons and all geared and completing pretty much everything the game has to offer, I decided to look for a different challenge so I started from absolute fresh on the PC EU server, no CP, no gold, no support to see if I could get some love back for the game the way that i first fell in love with it, I took two chars from level 0 to CP 300.

Well.... the main difference between the 2 servers is performance.... INB4 anyone says well you will have more ping and worse performance your in murica, I live in the UK but for my work situation I decided to play PC NA as I would be playing more in that time zones busy hours.

So lets recap I live in the UK and PC NA has noticeable better performance also less crashes and logging in issues! ikr!

The 2nd thing I noticed was the lower population even 'peak' EU hours did not feel close to NA 'peak' so queue times are longer and there isn't as much on the vendors and there are less people running around in every zone.

The 3rd thing people are gonna contest, but it is true, the skill level on PC EU is terrible when compared to NA, from random normals to BG's from Cyro to Vet trials. In every area the NA server contains higher skilled people who play. I know this game inside out, every class and skill, every armour set and weapon, how to move and how to chain skills and animation cancel to be as effective as possible. So I can say these things with authority. As a low CP player with bad gear I can completely out class max CP players on PC EU was common and I know it happens on PC NA but it is much less common from the BG's I have seen and ran.

The 4th and probably most upsetting for me is the general attitude, PC EU has very little communication in groups and players actively refusing to synchronise to be an effective team (most noticeable in BG's). Every body seems to want to be an ***hole or complete ignorance. I get less English speakers but nothing at all? not even an effort?
Zone chat is super toxic and just not a nice environment to play a game in. I did join 5 guilds to also test this and talked to some very nice people, so when participating in guild organised things it was better and good to play, but again not as much as PC NA.

To summarise it was nice to start from fresh and try to remember the good old days but unfortunately the game has changed so so much and not in a positive way I couldn't say I rekindled the love I once had.
Also if you play PC EU currently you should have a try on PC NA its a nicer more friendly place but you will have to bring your 'A' game as the poopy PC EU average will not fly.

PVE and PVP. I was talking about the whole experience from an experienced players POV. Not bothered about self praise at all.

Also, consider that in the US you have mostly English speakers along with some Spanish.

Europe consists of about 50 countries and most of them have their own native language. Not everyone speaks English. And if they do, they don't feel the inclination to talk all the time. Different strokes, different folks

Just meant from my point of view I found NA to be more sociable and helpful. If EU players want to play like a solo game with bots that's cool too.
Like I said I live in the UK so I know Europeans are less talkative, just an observation.

I did the opposite. And i experienced NA as toxic, and rude as ***. Full of elitists unwilling to help a new (to NA) player at all.

So i'd say both sides have potential of similar things.

Honestly, I wasn't haven't a dig (probably sounded like it - i could have phrased it better - apologies!). I think us EU peeps are also fed up with the crashes-maintenance-crashes-maintenance. I mean its probably just bad luck but I never see a problem with the NA server but many, and in prime time, for the EU server.

100% the performance is worse on EU from logging in to crash to ping, everything.
I remember when they split the server and moved the EU server to reside in EU I think it was Germany somewhere but going by the maintenance times and performance I think they have migrated it back and not told anyone.

I agree that EU has less talking people. Some people are afraid to express themselves like having some sort of anxiety or afraid that they have ''bad english'' , or very big egos and you dont stand at their level. But it doesnt mean that there's no good people at EU, I met loads of people that crafted me a specific gear for free, or helped with a daily . Skill? There's plenty of good players in EU, come to vivec and see for yourself.

But kinda made me wondering, hows PC NA vivec, do you get skill delays at peak hours. Especialy when you dodge roll you have to wait like 2-3 seconds for skil to work, do you get that too? And skills not working, like people walking OK, synchronized without lags but skills unpressable and only after like 2-3 seconds you can press, you get that too? Also do you get camera bugs, especialy when some1 drops meteor you get flying somewhere when you in reality are in the same spot as before? And what ping do you have in there from UK?

I am pretty amazed by this...…..

PC-EU since launch and although I have to admit certain zones chat can be toxic, I think the EU community is awesome!!

Maybe length of time on server gives a different viewpoint??

I remember when they split the server and moved the EU server to reside in EU I think it was Germany somewhere but going by the maintenance times and performance I think they have migrated it back and not told anyone.

That could explain why my ping is the same for both servers now, +350ms on a good day.

But getting back to the original post, I have max CP on both servers and I find while the NA server is seemingly more populated, the people playing them are pretty much equal in good and bad, both skill and temperament.

Maybe people just do not like you OP, skimmed over what you said, but seems pretty consistent on many levels on how innacurate your viewpoint is to how it actually is on PC EU, but shrugs, have fun on PC NA

How can my personal viewpoint be inaccurate? I see from your sig you play all EU so again the aloof and just ignorant comments come from it.
Ill try to have fun on whatever server I choose to play this game on IF I continue to play this game, but thanks for your kind wishes.

How long did you play EU and how long NA?

Started on EU in 2016. Started on NA during the summerset event.

I've been playing both server since Beta and I have to disagree. I'm American and now a days I play 90% of my play time on EU simply because for me, it's a much more pleasant experience. You say EU Zone chat is toxic, well buddy, that's just zone chat on both servers. Period. I even ran a guild on both servers and ended up stepping down on NA because I preferred the comradery I have on EU over what I didn't have on NA.

Um. BS. UK Player who has played in EU and NA SINCE BETA - over 800 and 900 CP and trial raider on both servers.

You just didn't meet the good players on EU. That's all there is to it.

Playing PC NA now, because I play OCE/AU times.

It is easy to contest OP's findings about player skill level between the two servers. We see the information very clearly.

PC/EU has the best score on all but 2 learderboards for group content.

PC/EU has best score for 4 out of 5 classes in vMA.

PC/EU often has the world first HM clear and speed runs of every new content.

There is more information available but depending on how one slices and dices it the argument can be made both ways. However, this does get beyond the limited experience of one player and looks at actual information.

I am playing since beta on EU. Running dungeons, doing some pvp, etc, and I found only a few rude people. Most of them were elitists. In general I found people friendly and helpful.
I am living in the UK, so I have good english, but I am not a native speaker. Writing is slow, so I only write in group chat if its really necessary. I never really chat, only discuss a few things when need to. In america almost everybody native speaker so its obvious that you find people more chatty.
I dont think eu players would be less skilled. If you running pugs be ready to bad players. If you looking for good players, join a guild.
I tried ua server as well, and I found it more stable, with less crashes and ping. As a european I get used to be a second class costumer for american companies. Not just zenimax, every american company is the same.

And then you ask the experienced and widely respected (and some of it old) duelling community nd other players who played on both NA and EU, say that the personal skill-level on EU is much higher than on NA, but NA has a lot more community feel to it.

If you wanna play with the best individual players - go play EU. Wanna enjoy the game, with the community, guilds etc.? PLay NA. They're social monsters with pretty much the same language, making it for an easy community-feel. Just visit.. Let's say.. Hm, my own country - Norway. To an american or a southern-european we will seem rude af. Because we rarely talk to strangers.

Then you take a poor norwegian and put her in California with a whole lot of americans, and her comfort zones and personal space gets invaded every hour. /bows

NA also has a different PvP-meta than EU does. EU is terrified, really terrified of dying and go turtle builds with little-to-no damage, whereas NA tends to be more damage-focused.

Played 2 or three years on the na server (when I lived in the states) and then moved over to the EU server when I lived to Europa.

I have the vise versa experience!

The performance is better for me, the peeps are pretty nice in the EU server and had better pve (vet dungeons and trials) and pvp experience.

I'm guessing it's just what you're experiencing on said server, they may have been nicer peeps on the na server for me, but I never found them.

well ill take it onboard and keep trying things on EU for a while, hopefully it opens up.
If not then its only 1more unsub and lost player, not like ZOS cares either way.

Except he has a point. Just because you can beat max CP people with ur 300CP chars it doesnt mean that NA players are more skilled. This makes zero sense.

P.S. What boggles my mind is talking about skill level when it comes to trials? Like seriously? Lmao. Ever heard of Hodor?
