Wind Chimes

Is it possible for ZOS to increase the sound and/or range of the wind chimes by 30 to 50%? They are hard to hear unless you are right next to them.

Here I can walk right under them and barely hear them. But, if I relocate them right next to me, they are much clearer. The chimes pictured are Murkmire Bonding Chimes, Domed. Thank you! :D

I agree, i was hoping they'd be a bit louder. They look amazing and i love the sound they give my argonian's study. But i gotta be right there to notice

Yes found out about these as furnishings today, was so amazed they actually had sound. Unfortunately their sound is tied to the "Effects" slider in game, which includes your skills and castings etc, which I tend to always turn down as they are way too loud, I like to hear music and ambient effects better. Please either turn them up or better yet separate the slider type more.

I've hung mine from the doorway of the first hut on Topal Island and they seem loud enough there?

I love these too and can definately be louder. Lol the things that are too loud are over the top and dont need to be so loud then these delicate things are quiet. I think my music box is too loud but i guess it's personal preference.

Anyway i agree with op 100% too

Hey guys! We will look at turning these up, and increasing the radius a bit. Thanks for the feedback!

Fun fact about these. We wanted these to be pretty authentic sounding, so we asked around if anyone in the studio had wooden wind chimes they could bring in. Our Assistant VO Supervisor Jessica Crowe brought in her mom's, and they looked almost EXACTLY like the ones in game, it was meant to be :) They were actually pretty hard to record, because you can't have wind push them because 1) there is no wind in the office and 2) the wind would just ruin the sound of the recording, so we hung them on a mic stand and gently rocked it back and forth slightly being careful to capture the sound of the stand or ourselves moving, Took a lot of takes to get right, so we are glad you all dig!

Furniture with sound FX/audio attached to them are really atmospheric, and it's a fine balance between making something that's pleasant and nice to listen to, like these chimes, and something that can be really obnoxious in the long run, like the OHHHHMMMMMMM moaning of the moaning Aegis dummy. I think you got it right with these chimes, and they're very popular, I have sold a lot of them on my server, and use them in many homes too.
I'm glad that you're turning them up a little, to make them have a wider area of sound. Perhaps you can look into the Aegis dummy as well, a lot of people complain that it's too loud, and have a huge area of sound - you can basically hear it all around your entire house, even if it's a huge house like the Psijic Villa. Turning down the volume of the guy and making the area of sound much smaller would help a lot.
Anyway, hope you're making more furnishing items with sound FX in the future as well, they're really helpful for creating some life in our houses.

I like furniture with sound, what I would like very much would be a sound switch. You can switch lights on and off - the same with sounds would be great for a great many things like the elsweyr wall etc. :-)
(The aegis' song is good for creepy houses, especially on halloween - I was sad when it was silent from the bug)

@ZOS_BillMueller Thank you for all the care you put into making these! The wooden wind chimes really do sound authentic and I love them! I really enjoy the versatility of decorating in ESO and look forward to what new FX items you may create for us to add life and atmosphere to our homes!

I think it is awesome that immersive items are becoming more common in the game. Any added items that add sounds (wind chimes), visuals (fog, or running water for example), or interactions (seats, lights, horns) are popular in my book. Thank you very much for replying to this thread! I appreciate your willingness to look into it!!

Please be very careful if you are going to change these and don’t make them too loud. I agree that a bigger radius would be nice but I love that they are subtle like they are just in a gentle breeze.

@ZOS_BillMueller Well worth the effort. Those chimes sound super realistic - and now we know why. ;)

@ZOS_BillMueller I would also love to turn off the Mural (Riddles of the Rithana-Di-Renada) song, because after a while it gets annoying.
