I really dont get how ?

First i have to say , i am not an avid pvp player! but i do on a crazy wensday jump in a vivec to try to get some AP !
today after joining a group and doing some pvp stuff , we encounterd an player ( i think DK ) not shure though! We attacked him more and more people came to help..

at one point 6 of is were full on attacking this guy , nothing happpened not even a dent ???? his sustain was also jsut fine because it took us like 6 minutes and still were doing the same thing and he was actually also attacking back.. i really cant comprehand how this is possible or what build you must have for this to work? 6 vs 1 how ? balance what ?

can someone please be so kind to explain ?

Well judging by your wording and your statement this seems like a lack of knowledge issue.

You say you occasionally go in there. This person may be a very experienced player with a tried and true build. They might fight outnumbered all day against other moderately experienced players. Which means any thing less is a cake walk.

Depending on the combined (in)experience between the 6 of you, it could have just been a normal DK that was comfortable relying on their basic heals to outheal the incoming damage, or a dedicated tank that you found alone and couldn't do anything against without proper group synergy. Sometimes the solution isn't a change of build but to "grow up" in-game so you can come back and fight the big boys on more even footing. For a veteran, a 1v6 against green players is a whole lot easier than a 1v2 against evenly matched players.

Best advice I have is if a bunch of you are beating on a guy and they are not going down, walk away and beat on someone else. Or /sitchair and eat some popcorn

Just get used to it. DK tanky builds can take so much damage it's almost laughable, especially with certain sets, and you'll find ones that can dish out serious damage as well. #balanced

Sounds a lot like an "unkillable" tank build. All attributes dumped into health, and skills and armor traits all focused on defense and self-heals. Can withstand just about anything, but their attacks hit like a wet noodle.

It might sound useless, but in coordinated groups, that kind of build can have a purpose. He can sit on siege all day long and pound away. Several on a ram are unstoppable. Or they can wade into a bunch of players, aggro them like you saw, and their nightblade buddies can sweep in to pick 'em off...

i can see it have it purpose, but sustain should rund out sometime right ? could not last that long healing yourself and stuff ?

I don’t know anything about the build of the player or that of the group fighting him. I will say that surviving the combined attacks of 10 players pulling 3k DPS each isn’t any harder than surviving one player pulling 30k DPS. And even <2k is not uncommon in PVP (about equivalent to the 5k “DPS” commonly found in random vet dungeons, since damage is halved in PVP).

Good point, first tanks take very little damage, as he was not able to kill anybody it was an pure tank build.
Also pve builds are pretty junk in pvp, its like DD on an healer build with healer gear in pve.

Tank taunted me so I have to fight him.

I have pulled this with an PvE tank in an zerg against another zerg, saw we had plenty of healers so ran into enemy and CC them, they hit me, no changes to health bar, yes this was an pve build but I had healer backing.

There are plenty of defense sets that can be paired superbly well with CP to make it seems like your opponent is unkillable, especially when you yourself have little experience in ESO PvP.

Targetfire, a DK tank who frequently BGs on PC NA is a good example. He has a twitch, so he might not have issues with answering your questions about his DK build. He doesn’t do a whole lot of damage, if any- to be honest, but he’s tanky AF.

He was either a tank or a good player. If he wasnt in a tank build i can promise you that he can give you his exact build and you wouldnt be able to replicate what he is doing.

I used to call him the never dying. Its impressive. We have a few out there that are fairly tanky, but they aren't on the same level. I don't know if that has anything to do with things changing in the game or if this specific player is really that much better at it, or both.

I fought a Nightblade, 2 Templar variants (A blazplar and a too-weak-to-diagnose-but-assumed-was-their-healer), and a Dragonknight. The DK was a Titanium Teddybear, their too-weak-to-diagnose-but-assumed-was-their-healer and Nightblade were super squishy, and their Blazplar wasn't a threat.



The second method of dealing with tanks is stack Bleeds with Oblivion Damage. Bleeds ignore resistance, and Oblivion Damage can't be mitigated at all. Sorry, don't have a video showcasing this one yet.

He's an ultimate charging hotspot. Fill ulti, move along. I've told people to ignore him, captured a keep and 3 resources, and came back to see them still fighting vs this dude.
