For me, there is nothing worse than starting a new zone/DLC and it's night in the game. ZOS has done such an amazing job designing levels/zones. There is so much detail and it's all ruined when I cannot see any of it because the game decides it's night time. I started Murkmire this weekend and I swear out of two days of game play it was only day time for a couple of short hours (I had the same terrible experience with Summerset). I don't want to have to time my game play around ESO's clock. Please allow us to turn off day/night effects.

If it's so dark during the night that you can't see anything you might want to try adjusting either the video settings in-game or your screens brightness and contrast. I keep my brightness relatively low (because I'm often reading text on a white background and can't be bothered to change it all the time) but I never have trouble seeing things in the game at night.

It is noticeably darker than during the day, but not to the extreme you're describing - I can still see everything, but the colours are different.

There are 6 hours in each day/night cycle, approximately 4 hours of daylight and 2 hours of nighttime. Features such as geography and weather can affect the perception of this cycle.

I wonder if there's a thread with the opposite viewpoint...

I love the changing environmental effects (day/night, rain (especially thunder)/sun).
I'd be the opposite. though; I'd keep it night-time (and rainy) more often.

That said, I'm not sure the option would be possible outside of personal instances, like our houses.
The Psijic Villa comes to mind. I hate that it's daytime there all of the time.

Then change your settings. The night time is equally beautiful

For overland, I actually prefer night time.

Easier to see glowing mat nodes.

Easier on the eyes when on those bright areas with either too much snow or sand.

Better to RP as a vampire and not feel stupid for running around in broad daylight.

I have my brightness almost at the minimum and the gamma is properly adjusted. Night time is still bright enough that it makes virtually no difference in how far you can see. In fact I've wondered at times how it would be like if night time actually required us to stay closer to light sources or risk running off a cliff. Like that sequence in Coldharbour where we can't see much of anything, except maybe a little less extreme.

I would not oppose the option to switch between day and night inside your home property. Kind of hard to place lights when it's high noon. By night you realize you have to do everything again.

I'm the opposite. I feel the day is way too long and vastly prefer night, both in game and in real life. That being said, I wouldn't have a problem with a toggle.
