PC thread: What mouse do ya'll prefer/use?

I have big paws, so a lot of mouses'es feel small, and weird as far as extra programmable button placement goes.

And I HATE that my little finger on my right hand hangs off the side and drags on the mousing surface. That causes a general worn-out feeling as the skin is always rubbing on the surface, and it tends to cause the mouse to be affected by a 'door-stop' action as my finger is acting as a brake.
I keep looking for mouses'es with a finger ledge on the right side to rest that little finger on.

And bonus points for a few well-placed programmable buttons with decent software/drivers.

OK.
Been through several models in the last 20 years, and they've gotten better, but then they get cheap/crummy and discontinued.

I always thought the MadKatz adjustables looked trick, but they got too many crummy reviews for spotty quality. And the price was too high to just try one out on a whim.

The Logitechs and Razor Naga style of mouse is too slim (side to side) for me, they're just too dainty. And the buttons on the side of the Naga feel just a little too close together for me to pick out the one I need without overlap.

I've worked my way through the Corsair series, (M-60, M-65, M-95) but they end up with button-bounce regardless of the adverts, and then ended up discontinued anyway.
The M-95 has decent layout, but I wish it was an inch wider.

I'm giving the SteelSeries Rival 500 a try for the last few days.
The thumb buttons feel too close together top-to-bottom, but too spread out front-to-back(!) which makes me move my hand placement on the mouse all the time to try to get the front buttons/rear buttons useful during a fight.
The two buttons on top/left, next to the LMB are too hard to access quickly while I'm fighting with the mouse trying to move my hand so I can use the thumb buttons.

In short - it looks interesting, but I hate it so much I'm foisting it off on my brother-in-law. And it has no native commands for browser forward/back commands in the set up software, so they have to be macro'd, which is just lazy.

My current M-95 is starting to buttonbounce or just not register LMB usage, so I'm in the market, again.

I could go $125-$150 for a decent mouse, I'm not in any way an eSports player, so I don't need NASA level stuff with LEDs and forcefeedback.

What are you guys using?
What do you use because you really 'like' it?
What do you keep in the bottom drawer because it sux, and you won't use or recommend?

Thanks for any help.

I have a Corsair Schimitar Pro. It's actually pretty big for my hands, but I have small hands. I've tried the other Corsair mouses in the past and had similar issues, but I've taken my Schimitar through the war and still works no problem.

Agreed, G600. Tried a Nyth for a while, but for some reason the side buttons are very uncomfortable.

I have Razor Naga Hex v2. The circle of seven side buttons nicely map onto skills, ultimate and synergy - by now I would have trouble adopting to playing ESO without it.

I’d second this, great mouse and favourite one I’ve had.

I have been using Razer Naga mice for at least 5-6 years. The 1st one started having double click issues on single clicks after 2 years, the 2nd one still works like the 1st day.

I have a Corsair Scimitar and love it, although Corsair's software is pretty terrible, so you'll have times when Windows loads and your mouse doesn't. Known issue for them with years and no fix.

Rival 500. Because it has buttons also on the other side, not just under thumb utilising my mouse hand perfectly. And it feels good to my hand.

Tried G600 but compared to rival 500 the build quality felt very cheap and plastic. Sorry no mouse flaming intended, just honest opinion.

Logitech MX518. Had it for years.

I don't mind what mouse people use, but please don't complain about lag and delayed button responses if you're using a wireless one...

If you play any shooters too, the Logitech G703 (formerly known as the G403 Wireless). Best mouse I've ever used. I can't imagine ever going back to wired mice after this. Modern wireless technology produces zero input lag.

I've have huge hands (I'm 6'4") and find this mouse very comfortable to hold, however, I use a fingertip grip. Your mileage may vary depending on your grip style.

I've been using a Corsair M-65 without any issue. I moved to that after wearing out a couple of Logitech's in short order. Time will only tell if it works ou9t better for me.

I feel your struggle, as I wear XXL gloves. I have been using the G502 and found it comfortable enough to buy the new G502 Hero with an upgrade sensor. I play with a loose claw style grip and find that all the buttons are easy to get to without thought or hassle. The software also provide some good options for customizing it's buttons with several layouts to cover different game types.

Logitech G502 is my favorite. The size is just right for my hand, I bind all movement to it because I prefer that, and I can adjust the weight. It's held up well and when it does conk out I'll buy another.

Roccat nyth here, definitely one of the best I've had. Previous one was a Corsair M95 which was decent as well.

    Razor Naga for me.

I'm a woman and have small hands, but if I had your problem I'd be tempted to apply my own fix. Try a polystyrene sheet from a craft or hobby store. Cut it to the desired shape, make a hole for the sensor, and attach it to the bottom of your preferred mouse with Velcro dots.

I've got an arthritic spur on my right little finger where the middle joint meets mouse. It had rubbed through the skin and was very painful. I used a donut-shaped corn pad and stuck it to the mouse. No more problem, finger has healed.

Redragon is nice. You can use the software to lock the DPI and then have the DPI button as a keybind for like weapon swap or whatever. I use a wired one.

i've got a box full of high dollar mice, many of them previously mentioned, but i've been using utechsmart venus mmo mouse, as it fits my hand and grip far better than a naga, corsair, logitech or steel series (rival 500 is close second, fwiw).

it's very like the redragon (perdition) mentioned above.

    ymmv.
