Australian Ping

I was curious if there has been a change with the servers, because before the patch I had a steady 250+- ping but afterwards I am at a constant 300+ and in Cyrodiil 350+. Has there been any changes to the server or is it my ISP being lazy or maybe the transatlantic line

Have any other Australians noticed a jump in game ping - (FPS is better, just the ping is higher than normal)

Mine was actually a bit better on Wednesday night, but was worse last night.
One of my friends noticed a jump last night too.
Probably just our awesome internet.

I'm not Australian, but have noticed that exact problem. A sudden jump since yesterday, but no change to FPS. I normally averaged around 120/130, but I'm now going over 150+. So it might be the server.

Ping is higher.. fps has tanked. Yep. Mightbe time to call it for me.

My ping is now 489 from 250.... I've given up, cancelled ESO+ and now play other mmorpgs.. I doubt any mods will help us, and the support site is designed to not work.. Literally so convoluted its a nightmare to navigate and its by design.

PC NA From NZL. Up until early last week latency was steady at 254 now its almosr constant 999+ with kick out on regular basis and lag is horrific

My ping increased ANOTHER 10. Was 280 is now 320

Many of us have been raising this question with ZOS for a few weeks now. So far we have gotten nowhere.

There are only two solutions open to you at this stage, but please put in a ticket anyway. The more voices ZOS hears, the more likely they will do something.

1. Use a VPN with a USA server outlet. (Will obviously add extra monthly costs to play the game.)
2. Quit the game.
3. (Optional) Relocate to North America.

I would suggest option 1 might be the best. There a several VPNs suited to gaming that allow you to try-before-you-buy with a time limited trial. (Mudfish, Battleping, WTFast etc.)

Of course until ZOS actually makes an official announcement on this issue, we can only speculate as to what the problem really is and whether it is fixable.

Routing seems to have changed - not via NZ-Hawaii, but via Hong Kong,

It's amazing that sooo many people are correlating this routing change with the increased pings, yet we're being told that it isn't the source of the problem....

Yes I use to get 220-240 ping in sydney on the same plan with same provider, this year I have not even played ESO due to the fact I get 310+ constant ping to these ESO servers I also use Battleping which helps a little, but something has changed, I know this topic is old but like someone else said they must have changed the route the traffic takes from the aussie to the USA.

I used to get get 220 ping, now get 350 (from NZ) so yeah, I feel your pain.

Akamai routing changed. We are now being routed through Hong Kong, which is stupid.

I'm from India and don't think it changed anything cuz still getting 300+ where as blizzard route through Singapore and I get below 100 ping in overwatch.

I was getting ~230ms ping all the time a few years ago. Then something changed & it went to ~350ms ... I want to say around Summerset release. It got to around ~400ms ping when ZOS announced that they will never make an Oceanic server & I cancelled my ESO+ & my play time on ESO has been less & less. Recently, my ISP (ABB) changed it's international routing (they sent out an email about it) & my ESO ping went back to ~250ms. I rejoiced!...... but when I went to play the game, the in-game ping was reporting 220-250ms.. but the actual 'laggy behaviour' of the game was actually worse! NPCs were teleporting all over the place, skills would not fire, even light attacks would not fire reliably. Animation cancelling was completely unreliable. It's like the latency is lower but the packet loss is worse... I don't know but it's not much fun to play.

For me, ping is ~50mS worse on EU compared to NA.

380 here again.... far north NZ. for a while it was a glorious 250.
