6th class?

TL;DR - how possible that we will get the 6th class for our characters to play with any time soon?

Previously I planned by the end of 2018 to have all 15 characters on my account. I created a spreadsheet with all of them being described in details - which class should they be, what resource should they be based on, what gender, what role and game mode they have to stick to the most. The plan was to make them all masters in all crafting skill lines, train their mounts, maximize their inventory capacity, basically make them all complete. I even started to collect all the set pieces in advance. So far I have 7 characters in ”work in progress” state, with my 8th in already ”complete” form (almost).

However recently I thought, what if we will get a new class in the game with some update in the future, as we got Wardens with the Morrowind chapter. Since there is no option of changing the class on already created character, the only way to play new class is to create a new character. And since I was planning to get all possible slots (15) filled, the only way for me to enjoy new class would be to delete one of my characters that I put a lot of hard work into. Hence here is the question - should I stop on 8 of them and leave a room for future?

I know that everything is possible, and devs may have plans on adding more classes. That is why I am asking such question hoping that some veterans or players that keep an eye on updates, changes and messages from developers may have some thoughts about this matter.

No.

Two slots were added to the Crown Store for Morrowind. One slot was added for the Update 17 Leveling Adviser.

Well maybe history will repeat itself.. The nerfs to sorcerer might spawn a new class. You can expect 100 % of your max health damage shields instead of 50 % for this new class.

Um. They can't manage the ones we already have. I don't really want to see a new one.

If it were me, I'd leave one slot open just in case next year's chapter births a new class. Then if it doesn't, you can fill that slot the way you had originally planned.

I've got three more slots to buy, plus the three toons laid out for them already figured out. If they come up with a new class next year, AND it's something I want to play (um - monk? Not only no, HELL NO) I'll just buy a second account.

I just found out that major updates with chapters also came with additional (buyable though) character slots. For instance when Morrowind was released it added 14th slot, then Summerset added 15th one. Is that correct?

Since Warden came from butchering the best of Templars and Dragonknights...

Necromancer will be birthed from the butchering of Sorcs and Nightblades.

I'm...not sure it would be worth it, but I could see ZOS doing it.

Yeah. I wouldn't ever play necromancer though, so they can bite me if that's the way it lands.

They butchered NB burst and sustain as well to make Warden happen.

I would save a slot at least until we learn what's planned for next year.

Too soon for a 6th class, honestly. We haven't even gotten good balance between the 5 classes we already have.

And honestly, Warden was so poorly handled for DPS, I don't have much faith in ZOS doing a 6th class at this time.

I'd rather go to no classes than six. My biggest complaint with ESO is this futile and heavy handed fetish with 'balance' that seems to frustrate players instead of balance characters. Perhaps 'balance' would be more achievable with no 'class' and a large, diverse palette of skill trees any character could choose from.

I've been playing TES since 2007 and ESO by far offers the least freedom and flexibility as far as both race and class goes. Race choices had much milder consequences allowing for a freer roleplay hand and 'classes' were simply informal shorthand for how you wanted to evolve your character.
