Then we'd need a third 30 day campaign, because I want them Transmutation Geodes from all my characters, dammit!
And there ain't no way I'm getting to tier 1 on 15 characters in 7 day campaigns. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I could imagine this leaving a whole faction basically empty with everybody flocking to one faction depending on which one won the previous campaign.
I imagine that faction changing for crowns would be more likely.
Obviously any race can be in any faction and all factions do pve together... But you don't always know who you are going to pvp with
Many players have characters in all factions and jump around. What if we just chose the faction we were in at the start of a campaign/when you enter for the first time?

What they should look at is allowing you to home a campaign for only one faction. Account wide...
That way it's not stopping people from pvping as they like... but limited rewards and emperor to the faction you chose to home as (and obviously the character(s) of that faction you played).

Huh? I was just suggesting you choose the faction when you choose the campaign.. so if you sign vivec for 30 days with ebonheart then you are there with that character for the duration.
Might be interesting to make the selection account wide for the duration as well

My bad, @ck37090, I misunderstood your suggestion then. So you're saying I can get on my AD toon, go to enter Cyrodiil for the first time during a campaign, and it'll ask me which side I want to fight for for the month?
Aside from how this rubs me the wrong way for what thin lore-based reasons there are, I can't say I'm against the idea. Might be kinda cool to take my lightning-wielding magSorc for a spin on the EP side of the fight. Get my inferno knight DK causing havoc over on the DC lines. Stuff like that has a certain amount of appeal, I guess.
It'd be a neat thing to try, I suppose. Kinda falls in the "meh" category for me, though.
Thanks for clarifying the suggestion, OP!

On a per campaign basis I would love to see faction locking. I was talking to a friend how bad faction swapping in this game is, and I spoke to it as I would to competitive team playing sports. Put this question to yourselves. You're playing a team sport, and your team is losing, or your stats are hurting because the team is having a bad game/season/etc.. How many people do you know would stop the game, and change teams? I've never seen this happen. Honestly if there were players that were flip-flops IRL, it would be a true representation of their poor character, and demonstrates they cannot be trusted when they are on your team.
