    Try heavy armor maybe?

Heavy armor is extreamly punishing for magicka
I meme, but my memes are so truthful they hurt

Want competitive pvp while being outnumbered? Tough luck, the devs clearly said you have to die in those situations

    (no dots on resto).

Skoria procs of restro heavy attack....
How much damage do you get from 1 full Resto heavy attack and 1 Skoria proc? Take that number and compare it to the amount of damage that Stam gets from 1 Dual Wield light attack and Rending Slashes application, with weapon enchant procs going off every tick (after the patch today, it'll be one enchant per tick instead of both). Then realize that during the several seconds of you heavy attacking and hoping for a proc to trigger, they've switched bars to their 2h and started using other abilities.

Its a restro staff so im not expecting much... I do it at range for the proc.. its also is a great way to deplete stamina while they block... then I switch back to whatever is on my front bar......

    But the statement was about....

.... Not how much damage ...... Im saying restro heavy attack is a dot as it procs skoria.......

When people say DOT, they mean Damage Over Time ability, not a channel.

Would you call Radiant Destruction (the Templar "Jesus Beam") a DOT-based execute, in the same vain as Poison Injection?

    Boring semantics argument in spoiler:
Wall of Elements will proc Skoria, but it's not really a DOT in the sense that most people use the word. Calling it a ground-based AOE would be much more accurate when it comes to MMO terminology, just as calling the Resto Staff heavy attack a channeled ability would be better than labeling it a DOT.

Imagine you were talking to someone that had been around MMOs for a long time, but was new to ESO; would you list every single thing that procs Skoria simply and generically as a DOT? That doesn't seem very informative. "Hey there's this Templar ability called Radiant Destruction, it's your class based execute that must be channeled on low health targets is a DOT like Poison Injection."

All that aside, whether or not a channeled Resto heavy attack or Radiant Destruction triggers Skoria isn't particularly relevant to the discussion you were jumping into. The poster you quoted was pointing out that Magicka builds don't gain power from "Glyphgate" like Stamina classes do, since the Resto Staff skill tree doesn't offer any DOTs. This means that you can't drop a cheap, powerful DOT + Snare on someone from your back barred Resto Staff, then switch to front barred Destruction Staff and go to town.
