Dragon knight tank ?

SwordBreaker33
becuse there are so freaking many builds and some outdated proboly can you guys point me to a tank build for dragon knight I just become Champion 160 well 164 to be correct but I just so I want a build that can help me in dungons and such until I can get better gear right now I can make Rubedite armor but I need to unlock more traits before I can craft any special armors or such so.

I wish for a build that points me to what skills.Atribute points and champion points to use as a dragon knight tank with Rubedite gear.

Woeler is widely appreciated as the tank guru, so he has a few DK tank builds.

You may be particularly interested in his build for beginner DK tanks https://woeler.eu/eso-dragonknight-beginner-tank-build/ which has champion point allocations for 160cp characters. You may notice that it recommends hist bark which is getting changed next patch, but I believe it may actually buff tanks.

You can also always find up to date builds on https://alcasthq.com/. Alcast and Woeler colaborate a lot, even running some other ESO resources together.
#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

Sweet thanks a beginner DK tank can be good I always been dps so it may help. Yeah I heard about hist bark but if I remember for me to craft it I need 6 traits in each item sure I could ask for people to craft it but then I also need some more gold to buy the mats im missing.

OP— Woeler is definitely a good resource for tank builds but it sounds like you’re just getting started, so refer more to the beginner tank guide in Jim’s post instead of the main tank guide in Doc’s. Not suggesting you can’t make use of the main tank guide, but that more of the concepts in there won’t be useful to you just yet.

I highly recommend seeing if a crafter is willing to make some gear for you (this may cost 10k+ gold) just so that you can get set bonuses. You probably don’t need them right off the bat, but they’ll help boost your stats, which will help make up for the champion points you don’t have yet. Or, look around on guild traders and see if you can buy a set for cheap. The beginner guide recommends some sets and those look fine to me.

The skills that the beginner guide has listed are mostly good for you. I don’t know that you’d get much use out of deep breath, so slotting absorb magicka there’s so it’s active on both bars might work better.

Re: stats, yeah, I think 35k+ health and around 17-20k magicka and stamina pools work well. You can use UESP’s eso build editor to play around with enchantments and attribute allotments until you get numbers you like so that you don’t have to spend a bunch of gold trying out different combinations. And remember, those stat numbers take into account purple tri-stat food. And for resists, if you can hit at least 25k for each that should be plenty for you right now.

One final word of advice: up to you, but I recommend maybe not using the random vet dungeon queue just yet. Most dungeons you’ll likely be able to complete fine, but if you get thrown into a vet DLC dungeon, it might leave a bad taste in your mouth when it comes to tanking.

I don't tank myself, but anyhow:
    • Dropped sets can be cheaper than crafted ones, especially if you're OK with green or blue armor with not-great traits ... and you should be at this time.
    • Plague Doctor is, I presume, a great set to learn on.
    • Potentially useful crafted sets that don't require many traits to craft include Torug's Pact, Seducers, and Whitestrake's Retribution. I'm sure there are others as well, but Torug's in particular is at times regarded as a "meta" set.

Ebon (5 pc - Cradle of Hearts I & II) drop. Totally worth farming. I run (3) jewelry, infused chest, sturdy boots.
Torugs Pact (5pc - Craftable). Light waist, medium hands (for the undaunted passive. can ignore passive and go full heavy or 6-1 if you prefer)

In the beginning don't worry too much about your monster set. When you get comfortable I recommend farming vet imperial city prison for a heavy helm for the Lord Warden's set.

Getting Ebon and Torug's is super easy though and puts you on the path to being a solid tank and improving your groups damage output.

Wroebel and Alcast both have great guides on their sites as well.

Welcome to ESO tanking and have a ton of fun.

This, and as someone pointed out you can take a look at Alcast's builds as well. Both run in the same circles.

Just make sure to try farming this in Crypt of Hearts because you probably won’t see many pieces drop in Cradle of Shadows

Thanks for fixing that. I sat there for a couple of minutes thinking I had it wrong, but for some reason typed it anyway.

You can go 2 ways with tanking, either stacking health or stacking resources, so attribute points are however you like, just have stamina a little higher than magicka so you get more stamina from synergies.

You can then go high regen or using a skill such as meditate or balance, so this will decide whether you need to put points into magicka regen or not.

CP mainly stack block cost reduction from green, healing and magicka crit damage from blue & direct damage from red.

Gear sets the 'meta' is Lord Warden/Ebon/Alkosh since it will provide you with high health, high resistance as well as providing your group with health and a lot of damage through penetration.

Gear sets you can choose are:
    Monster
    • Lord Warden - High resistance for you and your group
    • Bloodspawn - High resistance for you & ulti gen
    • Thauvokun - trash AoE minor maim
    • 1pc Shadowrend 1pc Chokethorn - High regen
    • Earthgore - Healing in intensive fights (e.g. vCR), pair with Vigor
    • Rkugamz - Healing and Stamina for fights where you're on your own and need to block a lot (vAA Axes)
    Body
    • Ebon - High health for you & a bit of health for your group
    • Alkosh - Big AoE resistance debuff on mobs from synergys
    • Akaviri Dragonguard - Reduced Ultimate cost
    • Powerful Assault - Damage buff for 4 people in your group (pair with warhorn and vigor)
    • Plague doctor - a heap of health, selfish set but great for fights when you're on your own (vAA axes, vAS)
    • Seducer - Mag cost reduction, same as above & also great in dungeons
    • Torugs - more defensive version of Alkosh, less debuff but more resistance and health

    Necessary skills:
    • Puncture - Taunt & resistance debuff
    • Heroic Slash - Maim and ulti gen
    • Igneous/Fragmented shield - group shield & your source of stamina while blocking
    • Hardened/Volatile armour or Balance - Source of major resistance buffs
    • Inner rage/Fire - Ranged taunt
    • Warhorn - Massive group DPS increase + Ultimates are a source of sustain

    Optional Skills:
    • Choking Talons - AoE maim and root, needed in trash pulls and certain boss fights (1st boss vMoL)
    • Chains - Pull mobs to you, same reason as above
    • Engulfing flames - 10% fire damage debuff on the mobs, increases group DPS
    • Meditate/Balance - Magicka recovery
    • Blockade of Shock - Sets enemies off balance & applies enchant on cooldown
    • Green dragon blood - 33% missing health heal (can crit)
    • Vigor - Nice HoT

Sure there's a couple things I've missed, but thats everything I could think of at the moment.

EDIT: For starting out you could look at Leeching Plate for a lot of healing in trash pulls.

Woeler.eu Alcasthq.com Transcendgaming.co are my go to places. Naming @Woeler and @Liofa as great tanks, check out Liofa's discussions on here for DK and Warden builds, Woeler's builds are on his site.

Even though I appreciate people suggesting my builds, I have to say that they are not for beginners. There are great beginner friendly tank builds already suggested in here. I would suggest going with them. If you try my builds with low CP and no experience, you will die and/or run out of resources all the time. My builds are optimised for 12 man end-game content which I don't think are your aim currently. When you hit high CP and start to have some interest in high end content, tag me (like this: @Liofa ) and I'll be glad to help you out.

im having some fun with dragon and jorvulds combo. 2400 mag regen (infused mag regen jewlery/barrier), long warhorns and sometimes endless warhorns!

only downside is a little lower health at 37k but you can spam shields/dragon blood forever to compensate lol.

DK is easy mode tanking :D Best sustain for any class in that role & the only class that doesn't need to slot a specific skill to get it, freeing up a slot for extra utility :).

Is baharas and leeching plate sets good for a 4man dungeon PUG dktank?

Seems that with the 5 piece of both is a lot of incoming health?
