Instead of just magicka.
Damage in general gets higher and higher with each patch. Max Magicka stays relatively the same. Please make shields immune to the power creep!
Isn't one reasoning for the ward nerf desaster that it is to easy to defend by just stacking offensive stats?
So they'll probably give all wards fixed tooltips before they make them scale with spell damage.
Instead of just magicka.

agreed now that shields take crit and penetration.
Except health based shields, but those should ignore battlespirit.
You make a very important point however what you suggest will not work.
None of our stats get higher each time the CP cap gets higher. It's all % values. So making spell damage affect it wouldn't help at all really.
Basically we would have to be putting more into Bastion patch after patch which sorta makes sense but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You make perfect sense and have a good idea but it won't work since our stats just stay the same.

This would make Blazing Shield viable again, which is good, but at the same time it would make hp stacking temp pretty OP tho.

Not true! ZOS keeps pumping out sets that push raw damage stats like spell damage and spell crit higher and higher (while a PvE example, look at Srioria).

Siroria's like ... the only example of this though.
All of the other meta sets are old. Mother's Sorrow, BSW, Ravager, Advancing Yokeda ... they've all been around forever. Relequen is another new set in the meta but its raw stats are irrelevant, it's just a super-powerful proc set. The sets from Morrowind (Master Architect, War Machine, War Maiden, etc.) were not "raw stat" sets either.
And in the other direction, BSW *used to be* much more powerful than it is now. It was 20% chance of +600 Spell Damage (which is the same ceiling as the max Siroria buff), now it's 15% chance of +525 Spell Damage.

Well, Advancing Yokeda has been around forever, but it only became a viable DPS set with jewerly crafting, because we could trait change its jewelry from healthy. Not sure that makes much a difference to your point, but I did want to make a point-of-fact correction.

There has to be some kind of adjustment to the cast time. The 1-second cannot go live. I was just healing a vet Scalecaller with a pug, and even with hardened ward the sorcs (admittedly far from max CP) struggled to cope with the fire and ice DoTs on Zaan. The dungeon would have been impossible for them if they had to wait 1 second for their primary defense to activate, all the while not being able to cast anything else.
Put another way: if the 1 second cast time goes live, not only will healers be required for 4-man content, but Kagrenac's Hope as well.
