Shieldbreaker in update 20..

If ZOS decides to keep the nerfs to shields, this set needs to be redone (nerfed) quite hard.

Either redo and rename the entire set into something else. Or adjust it somewhat.
If it the fifth bonus was reworked to something like:
  • You deal 10% more dmg to any shield.
  • Your light and heavy attacks will always crit a shield.
  • Your light and heavy attacks deals 20% more dmg to a shield.
Please discuss and even input your own toughts on the matter.

    How about it does the Oblivion damage to blocking opponents instead? Oh how shield can have so many meanings in this game lol

    Id rather they redo how blocking works (again) because its all too easy holding block and dealing dmg at the same time...whilst not having any stamina issues whatsoever. :tired_face:

    Agree.

    However I look at this the other way:
    Shieldbreaker will die itself, as it won't be needed to fight against shield - stacking enemy.

    You will be better off just with high crit chance & crit dmg build. Also - penetration will be important too against shield as armour will mitigate dmg - and the rest will be absorbed by dmg shield. So more penetrations means less armour & more dmg to shields.

    Shield breaker is not near as powerful as poeple think. I run it and it only does , like, 2k oblivion damage to players with a shield. 2k umitigated damaged is not much. The shield still stops damage incoming from abilities, light attack/heavy attacks themselves. It just doesnt block the oblivion damage. Even though it procs off of light/heavy attacks those themselves dont do any damage to the persons health, just the oblivion.

    Evers 0.6 seconds. Put an infused Oblivion damage glyph on top of this.

    Thats a lot of damage. 20k damage in 6 seconds only by light attacking someone that bypasses shields/resistences/cpmitigation/battlespirit. Ye, seems balanced to me.

    But shieldbreaker is not needed with the upcoming patch. Shields will be so useless you can kill them with light attacks without shieldbreaker easily.

    Yeah, shieldbreaker's gonna need more buffs to make up for how useless that 5-piece is gonna be when it can't find any shield-users to damage..

    They should just make it class-based... So on any ability use, any sorcs within 100m instantly burst into flame and dies - causing a chain-reaction to any other sorcs within 100m of the dead sorc, and so on.
    Then when they rezz, any sorcs destroyed by shieldbreaker have half of their gear destroyed, and a debuff applied which is double the strength of battle-spirit for the next hour (stackable).

    People will still say its fine and sorcs deserve it.

    nah it would be easier if it would work like if you light attack a sorc you delete that player sorc character which he cant recreate and can roll any other class

    Nah, you'd have to get in range then - and they'll be able to hit you back... Although it does provide counterplay - I'll give you that! :joy:

    Making it deal dmg through block and dmg shields would be cool.

    Preferably something that relates to your original dmg and not a flat 2k regardless of your build.

    New Shield Breaker
    (2 items) Adds 1096 Max Stamina
    (3 items) Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
    (4 items) Adds 129 Weapon Damage
    (5 items) When you deal damage to a Player with a damage shield or a Player who is blocking, 10% of your damage bypasses their mitigation.

    Maybe 10% is too low or too high but you get the point.
