Does everyone else feel this way about ESO?

At the core MMO's change over time. They evolve.
Never look at an MMO like you do a static game where nothing changes ever.

I came from wow where you literally have no choice but to chase gear when new expacs come out and cap raises.
I prefer ESO where my Hundings/Spriggans combo still performs and chasing any new gear in dlc/chapters is of your choosing.
I also prefer ESO because of choices. When we get new gear there's choices..trials, dungeons, crafted for pieces which appeal to various play styles.

Overall I view any MMO as an evolving game. When big changes come in that shakes up the game it becomes adjust, adapt or find a new game.

For over a decade I played wow and was able to adjust and adapt. But eventually there came an expac with big changes that just made the game not fun to play anymore so I ended up here where I've been for a little over a year.

I feel like ESO is one of the best MMORPGs out there to play currently. Even some of the games on the horizon pale in comparison to what ESO offers. I love the lore, the game play, and crafting systems. The unique auction house is also fantastic. Overall it's a fun game at its core.

The problem I have with the game, and maybe you can relate, is that the balancing is always a roller coaster. Every time a patch comes out we're faced with class crippling nerfs or extreme buffs that the community, for the most part, can't understand. I've only just returned and I don't even know what I want to play given the possible Murkmire adjustments.

More often than not I find myself replacing armor sets constantly every time a DLC drops. The adjustments to classes, sets, and abilities almost seem as though they have an RNG nerf generator. Nothing makes sense. I believe that some of the changes are so dramatic and senseless that that is why they put those explanations beneath the change in an effort to try and rationalize what was done.

I'd rather have a sorc shield stacking than have the entire shield meta gutted completely. This is just one of many examples but I am sure we can all think of dozens of ways to adjust the shield issues beyond making them nearly useless. These dramatic changes hurt the core game fun for a lot of people that enjoy playing their way and enjoy the classes they've built.

I'd like to see more gradual and sensible adjustments to things in the future. I'd also like to know why something will be brought up 4% and then dropped 4% in the followup patch. That doesn't make sense mathematically. If you're working off of a baseline equation or using any form of logic you would only need to adjust the value a single time unless, once again, they use some RNG adjustment system or just change things based on how they "feel". Basing changes off how something feels will never work out right because there are varying skill levels. The adjustment should surround a baseline formula and be adjusted according to that unless power creep changes its potency (which 30 CP does not).

I agree with everything but the auction house. I hate the way it is set up. Hundreds of guild vendors scattered out on this vast rock with dozens of zones and no good way to search for items has never made any sense to me.

The problem is the balance changes in this game are so harsh sometimes nearly half the patch notes have me scratching my head like why is this a thing I remember how many friends left and how 2 guilds I was in were destroyed over night when Morrowind came out.

It would help if ZOS did took a break from DLC for one quarter and came out with a huge bug fix and quality of life update like more homestead stuff, guild features like withdraw limits, not having to wear a tabard to rep your guild, search function for guild traders and other quality of life stuff, fixing certain costumes and motifs so they don't clip or fit better like belts since theyre are so many nice belts but they can't always be used fixing I think would help the game long term.

I also play on PC from time to time but I just wanna be left alone on there so sorry.

Balance is a rollercoaster in every MMO with a class based system. Some games are much worse.
It would be nice if PvE and PvP were seperate, but that doesn't guarantee that it's going to bring balance. It just means individual concerns for that area of gameplay would be better addressed.

Patches and balancing is too wild and all over the place. Need to add 3rd morph to all skills so the things that work can remain and other elements can be added without having to remove/delete what already works. Devs aren’t playing with a full deck.

The devs are so hopeless they can hardly make the 2 morphs work, adding a third would blow their tiny minds.

I quit WoW because each expansive was remaking my class build completely, worse every time, more braindead with 0 customization. It isn't fun getting your playstyle ruined that you've gotten used to for years. I feel your pain.

Nerfs and buffs are completely understandable, those will happen in an MMO constantly. But when devs intentionally ruin entire playstyles is when I draw the line.

Fortunately I don't play sorc.. I would seriously be pissed if I did, I probably wouldn't even be here right now.

The ESO auction house is by far the worst in the entire history of MMO's so that must have been a joke I guess?
