[PTS Testing] Massive nerf to dodging (Around 50% drop in I-frames)

Skills used for testing: Swallow Soul, Snipe, Light Attacks, Cutting Dive, Surprise Attack, Dizzying Swing

Results: It is significantly harder to dodge any ranged attack. Unless perfectly timed, it will hit you. Cutting Dive and Swallow Soul is far easier to land. Melee abilities are also far easier to land as long as you attack at the tail end of the animation.

There is around 50% drop in I-frames from dodging.

Unless this is a bug, this will be the last nail on the coffin of medium armor.
Factoring in lag and undodgeable abilities, this virtually makes it impossible to effectively dodge now. This is a massive buff to zergs, as dodging is downright useless with the change for anything than two players, it will be impossible to actively dodge all ranged skills.

    this is why I am ok with medium armor having 25% reduction on my jabs.

    They might need an extra defensive buff, maybe crit resists.

    @susmitds can you provide information regarding multiple dodge rolls in a row? Like say you spam dodge roll, so you do 2-4 dodge rolls, do the projectiles still hit you?

    You are wrong on the lag part. Unlike abilities, which performances drop in laggy enviornments, lag actually improves the performance of dodge roll as you can still dodge when the anomation is hitting you and still evade the attack. The current changes to dodge roll should not affect that.

    Jabs is already undodgeable, the new changes are an indirect PvP nerf. For any other, medium armor is dead.

    Actually, it has been inverted. Previously lag used to far the dodger as you didn't have to time it. Now dodge has been changed to favor the attacker at all times except for a small window before the attack lands.

    On PTS, that is no longer the case, it seems. It is possible to time attacks, especially melee at the tail end of the roll animation to hit a dodge spammer.

    I dont see whats wrong with that? That's how it should be. I'll take this anyday over getting hit on perfectly timed dodge rolls mid-dodge.

    Unless lag makes this even more unbearable which it shouldnt.

    Dodging itself is inconsistent now, with ranged attacks can hit you mid-roll, especially in the final half of the animation. Dodge spamming, which is the only source of defense for medium armor users, except NBs, is significantly unreliable now and will end up wasting stamina, especially with the cost increase.

    Why should it be?
    You see the projectile (almost) hitting you and you dodge. Due to lag it will register as having dodged in time and you will evade the attack.

    The only change made was that projectiles with a remaining flight duration > 1 second will not be evaded by this dodge roll, but will require some other counter - i.e. another roll, block, cloack, shield, heal, ...

    lol, remember when they told us that light armor and medium armor were getting buffed this patch? Then we found out that shields and dodge roll are both nerfed about 50%.

    I haven't got home to test anything yet, but when i saw the patch notes and knowing how the dodge animation worked i knew the nerf was going to be brutal.

    3% Weapon damage increase is 1% damage increase. That's no buff, considering I can get the best of both worlds using Heavy Armor.
