Briarheart

Hey all.

I'm leveling a Stamplar alt and I was just wondering, is Briarheart worth it on a medium armor build? I was considering pairing it with Ravager.

That will result in a very high damage build, but probably sustain and and survivability will be rather low....

Depends...If you want my honest opinion its hard to justify it over other sets. I have 67+ crit rate (most of my hits crit) and briarheart is still sometimes hard to activate in PvP. However, it becomes increasingly useful the more targets there are. I would not bother wasting gold on weapons, and instead use medium armor pieces because you will swap that set in some situations. Medium body pieces are also probably way cheaper.

@Checkmath right though, you not gonna have any way to sustain or survive unless you can block + roll well and heavy attack often or spam potions. The alternative is to only attack when you need to, but who can actually predict when an opponent will dodge or block? You would need to encounter the same people often and notice their habits...

Yeah :/. I guess I'll just run Bone Pirate on body. Also, if it wouldn't be too much of a bother, could you guys maybe give opinions on my setup idea? I was thinking:

    Front Bar: Two-Handed

    -Biting Jabs
    -Power of The Light
    -Repentance
    -Rally
    -Shuffle
    -Ult-Dawnbreaker of Smiting

    Back Bar: Sword and Shield

    -Rune Focus
-Meditate (for line of sight sustain, mostly)
    -Resilving Vigor
    -Reverb Bash
    -Extended Ritual
    -Ult-Spell Wall

the 2x crit chance with slimecraw and medium armor will only barely break 40% crit chance in nCP.
Therefore it's mostly a PVE/CP PVP set since its uptime was reported to be better on 50%+ crit.

It’ll work, the best stamplar i seen in this game used that before people played stamplar and before the reduced cost to jabs.

Briarheart should be up a lot , it easily procs. My stam sorc ww is currently using it. It procs before ravager.

I don't main stamplar, but in general, some sets are more niche. You can for sure make a build that is viable centered around the set.

If you are using rendering slashes along with biting jabs, and possibly even blade cloak, you have a lot of outgoing dmg for a crit to occur and proc it. You could even run double health poisons which are procing every sec. So you would have the dmg tic from slash, 2 poison dmg, possible bleed, dmg from cloak and spamming jabs.

The same "rule" applies for ravager. The reason why it is a good fit for stamplar is biting jabs frequency gives it a higher uptime and you can also put on rendering slashes.

Yet if you are not using abilities that do frequent damage, in favor of burst, the set looses value right away and it may be better to go off of a set that boosts max stats or guarenteed dmg.

Both sets loose their value is used on a 2h build or S/B as the uptime is less.

Gotcha! I was on the fence about dropping dual wield in the first place. Looks like I'll be keeping it!

So with Rending Slashes+Biting Jabs, Briarheart could potentially proc very often?

    Try Veiled Heritance
~same wpn dmg boost, but with no cooldown, so it can proc while active, means never fall off.
But this is Heavy set, so you would want to find jewelry (and retrait it) and weapons only

Hmm...not a bad idea, but I was planning on pairing Briarheart with Ravager (Ravager jewelry and weapons, Briarheart on body).
