I personally prefer Infernal Guardian. It acts as a "gtf off of me" button when you're stuck spamming shields while they pressure you since shields take too much damage.

It's a really great decoy. Especially for pet sorcs that stand in a group with other pet sorcs. You can never target the player.

No burst heal, so health proc while shield stacking is useful for topping off your health.

Dark Conversion lets you transform excess stamina to magicka, so even a poorly timed stam proc is useful.

i have a hybridish stamplar - there are more fun sets to play with (molag kena and maw of the infernal in particular for this character) - but, engine guardian really is a fantastic sustain set, and, helps with popping just the right pots...
